  1. I have checked the wiring between the boot hatch, but was only a quick look. Think I'll have another proper look. Had a quick look down at the earth stud and there has been other earths added to this for tow bar and rear camera I think. If it was a bad earth, would it not cause issue for any other lights?
  2. I read on here that fuse controls more than the boot light as in the other interior lights? Which are fine... Surely there isn't a fuse just for the boot lights?
  3. Wonder if anyone has any ideas why my boot lights aren't lighting up on my 2010 Estate? - The boot open indicator on the dash screen works correctly showing the boot as open when it is - Other interior courtesy lights work - Its not the bulbs as tested working bulbs - A new genuine boot latch/microswitch has been installed - Wiring between the boot hatched checked Pretty stumped as to why they aren't lighting up. Quite annoying too in the winter.
  4. Just removed the throttle body to give it a clean as it was giving me an EML. All clean and refitted, but when putting the hose back on, it doesn't seem to fit properly anymore? It wont reach all the way onto the throttle body. Its on the correct way as well. Anyone else had this? I'll grab a picture soon.
  5. The BAM engine was never put into a Skoda. Totally different engine to your TSI. As above the guys talking 💩
  6. I have a MFSW in my Octavia and there are a couple of issues: - Cruise control doesn't work - When pressing the buttons on the indicator/cruise stalk it can operate the MFD menu but also brings up the message "Button for driver assistant system defective" - The right hand side scroller wheel doesn't work and won't scroll the menu in the MFD Anyone else experienced similar? I have OBDEleven and will post up a scan later on today.
  7. I've fitted a replacement bonnet to my Octavia but the passenger side doesn't sit properly like the drivers side. It's up slightly and not sitting as close to the headlight/bumper as it should. The gaps at the purple and green areas are larger than the other side. Is there any adjustment on the bonnet? Passenger side: Drivers:
  8. I've had the same on mine, the rear shocker covers had dropped away from the bump stops and were ratting on the lower arm. Few cable ties has fixed that for now 🙂
  9. I have a 2010 L&K Octavia with MFD and steering wheel controls. The horn, volume and all buttons work correctly, but the scroll wheel to cycle through the MFD screens doesnt work. Anyone any ideas why? I have scanned the car and there are a few codes for the steering column section:
  10. That thought had crossed my mind, but no I didn't. They will get glued in place if they fall off again.
  11. Servicing was next, which was long overdue I think! Up on the ramps to make a start: Dirty engine bay! I'm actually missing a bit that connects onto the air intake pipe: Clean air filter, old one dirty but not too bad: Pollen filter....!!! I dont think this has ever been changed, as this was an original OEM filter. Car smells better now! Also a free fix - the rear load cover didn't hold in place. Turns out the spring clips that hold the cover, fall down into the space behind the boot trim. Spent half an hour recovering them and refitting and it works perfect now! Broke: Fix in process: One of the missing clips: Fitted back in place: Fixed!
  12. Thought I might as well put up a thread on my recent purchase. Two months ago I purchased an R53 Mini, cutting a long story short - the car had an issue, that the dealer was making a meal out of fixing and in the end I got my money back. Now not sure what to replace it with and looking at the used car market, anything decent is MILES away from me. So decided to purchase a run around. Now this involved looking at the sub £1000 market on Facebook/Gumtree etc which is a MINEFIELD. Lots of scrappers and chav wagons at this price point, however this popped up on Gumtree last Tuesday and looked promising: 2008 Skoda Fabia Estate 1.4 TDI - That turns out to be the higher spec 3 model with full DIS, cruise control, climate control, 6 CD, better speakers, parking distance control. It was pretty filthy inside, has no history and the bonnet has suffered bad lacquer peel, but the mechanicals were good and the MOT history was a lot cleaner than anything else I had checked. It needs a service so the asking price was knocked down from £795 to £750 and I was on my way! Pics before clean: Scrubs up pretty well: Well happy with it! Service was on the cards next.
  13. Has this issue this morning and tried some of the above which didn't work. What did work was using the correct key and not my girlfriends VW key...
  14. I've removed it as it's seen better days and when the engines running it causes it to rattle alot.
