Hi, I have a 2009 Skoda Octavia Estate, Which has had (@60k mileage) the engine swapped out for a 2.0 litre Audi TT engine, I have a small go kart trailer that I've been towing, but during a trip to Devon I had some issues with the gearbox jamming up or not going into gear. When looking online for the towing capacity of an Audi TT 2.0 Tsi Cuda(CHDA) engine, the towing capacity is zero... Which I was kinda surprised at, I initially thought that it was because of having the clutch fixed & thought he'd messed something up.. What upgrades(gearbox, drive shaft or engine parts)could I do to the engine to give it more torque or capable of towing a small to medium sized trailer.. This is not a large caravan or a large car trailer, go karts are small & so it's the trailer. I only really have camping gear in there when I go on holiday, maybe a surfboard & small amount of scrap metals. But curious if there's anything I could do to upgrade the towing capacity from Zero to 1500kg or just under. Any comments appreciated .

Don't think it's gonna be that, coz that's inside the engine bay & not in the passenger footwell, definitely will have a look though & see if it's corroded.. thanks for the suggestion..

Hi, Having multiple electrical Faults With my Skoda Octavia MK2 Which started after the drain pipe from the sun roof going down to the left wheel arch came loose & started draining water into the passenger side foot well. Now it's getting an intermittent battery drain which has got to the point of draining every 2 days. Already fixed the water ingress issue & is fully dried out. Also intermittently coming up with Airbag Fault, ESP fault & Lower Voltage limit exceeded. + The right side wing mirror is not opening outwards when you unlock the car or turn the ignition. Battery has been tested when I had to call out a recovery truck & he said the battery's fine & is retaining it's charge. Taken into Panks auto electrics in Norwich & after paying him near on £100 he still couldn't find a fault. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Is there modules underneath the carpet in the foot well, seems to be a short somewhere, annoying that he wouldn't find the fault.. Or any other possibilities?

Got a couple of codes from the OBD2 meter, but still not 100% sure what they are.. post here just for anyone else's info.. says voltage supply sporadic so probably is shorting out somewhere...

Hi, question regarding an L reg Skoda Octavia Laurin & Klement estate. Petrol 2L. Driving down the motorway today doing 70mph & the dash dimmed & all the dials dropped to zero. for a minute or two. flashed on the screen. Airbag Faulty, then esp fault. or something similar. car hadn't stalled, just random glitch. but was half expecting the airbag to inflate in my face down the motorway... anyone know what happened? or why all the dials cut out... got a obd device in my boot somewhere so will plug it in, in a bit & see what other fault codes come up or stored code...

I didn't know this, It may not have been put in as factory standard. But this Car has had a completely new engine put in roughly 30,000 miles ago. So is their a way to check via the engine number or a code on the head/block?

Hi, i've got a 2009 skoda octavia estate, Laurin & Clement. Which has a 1.8tsi Petrol Audi TT engine in it. When talking about getting it chipped with a guy that was parked down the road from me he mentioned that Unless it is the Audi TT Bam Engine, they have a habit of going Bang or blowing up when getting them chipped. Would only get it chipped for fuel economy reasons as i've transitioned from a diesel Octavia Estate to a petrol. My old diesel used to do Just over 640 miles on a full tank, roughly £70 worth but the newer car I've just brought only does around 360 miles for the same full tank of around £70.. Would it say on the v5 or log book which engine it has fitted. Oh, just remembered it had a New engine fitted around 30,000 miles ago. How do i tell which version it has? Hi Got a 2009 Skoda Octavia Estate, 1.8Tsi Petrol, Laurin & Klement, 1ZU i think... Can't seem to connect to the factory fitted stereos bluetooth, BT-Audio is greyed out on the control panel & there doesn't seem to be a way to select it. Have Bluetooth turned on in the settings, but my Umidigi phone is not finding anything when i search or try to pair a new device. Do you need any app on your phone, or firmware updates etc... Just Upgraded my from my Old 2005 2.0 Ltr Skoda Octavia Elegance estate Diesel Tdi. To a newer 2010 Octavia Estate Laurin & Klement 1.8 Tsi. Looking for suggestions on what can possibly be upgraded on it & a rough idea of where to start. As far as i know, everything is factory standard on it & the guy in the garage said that it had the Audi TT engine in it. Can i ask what parts can be upgraded? Wheres a good place to start & what parts would you suggest to upgrade first.. contacted Celtic Chipping place & they said would cost around 250 to get it chipped or remapped... Other than that whats good to upgrade, turbo, wheels or any other parts.. looks pretty much brand new. So seems to be a good find & had a new engine fitted not long ago...

Is it possible to fit the Undertray of a Scout onto the Car mentioned above in the title, My previous Skoda, they only thing that broke on it was the flimsy Thin plastic undertray. Was wondering if I can take it off my nee car & screw the Engine Tray from a Skoda Scout on instead. I go off-roading quite often, but couldn't find a decent scout. Don't do major off-roading just occasional tracks and hunting for good camping spots... ideally get the suspension raised an inch & replace the flimsy plastic with something a bit more robust. Alternatively probably take the tray off and put a layer of epoxy over it to give it some extra stregth...
