  1. Thanks again for the input and apologies for late response....the problem seems to have resolved itself. In Fact, the Aircon has been perfect (until tomorrow of course) although vcds did report some very silly cabin temperatures? Cheers Steve
  2. Checked fans both running start running when AC is switched on Checked the sensor and it is in place
  3. Thanks J.R and Breezy. If I can, I'll check all of the above this afternoon after a drive. Is it worth hooking vcds up whilst on the drive to monitor? Steve

  5. Thanks Breezy Do you mean the engine radiator fans ? If so do I just eye ball them in the engine bay ? It does seem to blow cold when engine temp is normal after a short run - Thanks
  6. Hi, I am sorry to mention Air con - I have a nice cold system for the first few miles on a hot day, but after some time it begins to warm up to a bit and becomes just about the same as no air con. I have vcds but no fault codes have come back on a standard fault scan - would anyone know what tests to run in the hope of finding the problem. Of note, I almost always see large puddles of water underneath the car when its been driven, but have always assumed it to be the condensing process. ? Any ideas or experience of similar faults would be appreciated Steve hvac log.txt
  7. Also just to add, you might notice the temperature on the photo is 19.7 I dont think you usually see the .7 bit. And the photi relates to rear...ahain not usual I believe.
  8. Hold the AC and the screen buttons you get the self check flash similar to holding Ac and front vents... However this screen is not standard and appears to show temperature options and rear vents locked or no lock.
  9. By pressing the AC and Screen button I get an extra screen in the info. Seems to give temperature reading and also relates to rear. Anyone know what can be done with this setting or what it actually is.
  10. Nice one, never thought of doing it that way...does the transfer box etc need to be disconected with a special tool. Could change, clean the DPF too if it was done like this. Thanks
  11. Just noticed my clutch slipping in 4th & 5th under load, rang local garage and he was totting up the possible costs and I mentioned it was 4x4...sharp intake of breath and it seems that the prop shaft, subframe, transfer, exhaust all has to come down...so he said it has almost doubled the bill due to the labour. Fair enough I guess, I don't know. Anyone got an idea on how many hours for this job would be reasonable ? Cheers
  12. Measured every fill up since I bought 2012 4x4 Estate 2.0CR Tdi, averaged 43 -48 pre remap.... had the roll back and Stage 1 tune (185-90bhp 400nm) now average 40 - 45 with mixed driving and mixed roads. The fuel computer reading is not trustworthy and if you get a remap, it will be even further out, tank to tank is really the most accurate. Completed several fully loaded camping trips and the car just eats the road up. The basic estate 4x4 is very understated BUT can comfortably hold off the Audis/Bmw trying to push past on the autobahn. The twisites are fun too you feel the Haldex bite as you accelerate through and out of the bends. On the motorways and autoroutes etc is where this car excells, I'd say that the power from 40 -80mph is the most useable of any diesel car I've owned. The road holding (4th Haldex) is as good or better IMO, than the old UR Quattro & 80/ 90 Quattro 5cyl of old, feels very safe and predictable when pressing on a bit. Regards noise levels, it just isn't an audi or vw, I don't mind the odd rattles and a lack of sound proofing because I am paying a heck of a lot less when I take it to the garage. It is noisey compared to an Audi a4 Avant, I've driven all regularly and the Octavia is the noisey compared. Comfort, suspension....I opted for uprated rear shocks and regret it when not carrying camping gear and love it when I am... The tyres made the biggest difference in discomfort, I went for Michelin xclimates with the xduty sidewalll (15), brilliant tyre in all conditions so far but for the harshness of ride. But, when the car is loaded for family camping etc..its as plush as an Audi or anthing else I can compare it with. The haldex has given me a few inital scares but I'm at ease with it now and I diy change the oil every 10k.. Seats are basic in mine SE...but seem to be holding up well to busy life...I might say they could be a bit better for comfort but I could easily change to some audi/vw at some point. Skoda for me, have always exceeded my expectations..I even won a rally in one many years ago. My mum had a felicia and that went great for many years... they are really great cars.
  13. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IdMKR3S38VY Love mine done loads of camping etc...wet grassy slopes no problems Huge carry/towing capability Fast as a Vsr if you decide to tune a bit Michelin cross climatea on mine...X duty side wall...bit harsh...brilliant grip so far through mud and deep water Had a few worries to begin with but everything settled and sorted now MPG is always 40-45 even fully loaded camping gear and with bikes on the roof. With remap it is embarrasingly quick motor too 👍
  14. Thinking the offside rear (start of the vid ) sounds bad. Maybe not a big job to change wheel bearing as I think it is a kit..
  15. Had the car up on a ramp...think this is a bearing?? What are your thoughts to this sound..no noticable wobble when checking for play. ...hopefully just wheel bearing. cheers Video - Noisy bearing
