  1. I bought a MY20 Kodiaq from the main dealer in Sheffield last month, and the PCP agreement was with VWFS - cancelled within 14 days to maintain the perks per the OP. Can't comment on the PCP provider you've been given tbh - just make sure that if you cancel, any additional perks are maintained, I must have asked my sales guy about 10 times!
  2. Just following up on this after replacing mine with a unit from aliexpress. Can't fault the unit that arrived, even had the skoda logo in the plastic body. I did however have the same issue with the led not working and looked to strip down the new unit and swap over as per the OP above, but I noticed the positive/ negative wires were crossed on the new unit (albeit red/black v brown/blue) so simply swapped over the connections in the plug and tada, the scroll lit up perfect. 😁
  3. The road noise is most likely down to your tyre wear tbh.
  4. Thanks for this, I'll have look at this for mine, I've been looking at downgrading my alloys from 19's to 18's, for the combination of comfort and cost per corner.
  5. I've done the upgrade on my MY17 from MIB2 to MIB2.5 (just need to change the dash trim insert as the newer screen doesn't sit as deep at the top - still need to do this one mine). I got a screen off fleabay and sent my existing glovebox unit away for updating to MIB2.5, alternatively i was told you can simply change the columbus MIB2 screen to the amundsen MIB2.5 (capacitive buttons on each side) screen without having to update/replace the glovebox unit as the resolution is the same, therefore a direct replacement.
  6. Your seat controller is too old - i have the same issue. The seat controller on mine is 5Q0 959 760 B, and for the option to appear on the radio you need rev C or newer ( @SashaGracewill correct me if i'm wrong as she checked this for me when fitting my RVC 😉).
  7. The additional cooling can be required on non 4x4, my dad was in contact with the parts guy at a local dealer who advised him of this and was able to confirm whether the cooling system was suitable for towing. Apparently there is no logic to the fitting, seems to be luck of the draw.
  8. I used my spare wheel from my old mk2 and fitted 205/65 r16 tyre to it. Looking at the tyre comparisons it was a closer fit for the stock 18's/19's than 215/60.
  9. Had my 19's done a 'light' anthracite. Love the look but actually thinking of selling to down-size to 18's (not a big fan of low profiles). Was looking at getting the 18 equivalent as @Martin201 has done.
  10. I would have assumed so but seemingly not - at least on mine. I've since found through a friendly parts guy at the dealer the springs from my dad's, he compared and my dad's and his rear axel load is 2 steps higher than mine (but the shockers are the same), I've therefore ordered the springs for my dad's and intend to install on mine. 👍🏻
  11. Towed for the first time with my S3 when pulling the caravan from storage last week and the rear of the car sat very low, even without the boot loaded (the nose weight was ~85kg). My dad has a 2019 S3 and with his caravan and a similar nose weight his sits noticeably higher. When solo my rear wheel arch sits around 25mm lower (both SEL Exec's). My query is, with my S2 i used Grayston Auxiliary Spring Assisters and was considering this for my S3, but was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for slightly stiffer direct replacement standard springs to save declaring on the insurance?
  12. I had been replying on the graphics on the stalk itself which only show speed being adjusted by flicking up/down with no indication of a 'flash' to adjust in smaller incriments, only resume - should have read the manual!!
  13. i'll give that a try, thanks, i was just flicking up/down and frustrated at it jumping in 5's.
  14. Yes that's right, but the first time it only adjusts to the nearest 5, then multiples of thereafter.
  15. My S3 has been in the garage for the last few weeks and I've had a Kamiq for that period. The Kamiq still has the function to adjust CC by 1mph at a time akin to my old S2, whereas the S3 obviously can only adjust by 5mph. Is there a way to change the parameter by how much the cruise can be adjusted within VCDS? I've not had a look as yet but thought i'd put the question out there.
  16. To be sure of the car kerb weight, take it to a public weigh bridge, the book figures can be a fair way off reality. I tow a 2011 Sprite Major 6 with MTPLM up-rated to 1500kg (from 1405kg). Just upgraded from S2 hatch to S3 estate (also had a S1 before that!) and not actually towed with this car yet due to all the current madness, but not got any concerns as the S1 & S2 towed fine and never had any issues.
  17. @Gizmo I saw elsewhere that some have mentioned a file to uploaded that permits this function - is this not something you'd receommend? I asked the question elsewhere and got this reply:
  18. Has anyone got any updates to this for closing the boot lid from inside the car? I have the same controller as above - i understand it can't be done by VCDS and needs someone with VCP, but wondering if this was confirmed to work and whether there is anyone around Sheffield that could sort this once the current madness is over?
  19. @den007There doesn't seem much availability of these updates, however i asked in a facebook group a few months ago and got told that the software versions are specific within each sub-version - i.e. v.0171 can only be updated with soft v.01xx, my old MIB2 v.0245 could only be upgraded with v.02xx, etc. Not sure if this is accurate but i never found the update file for my old MIB2 regardless.
  20. My dad's MY19 SEL Exec has Electronic voice amplification/enhancer. I assume this is specific to the newer MIB2.5 Columbus and not simply something I can code into the earlier MIB2 Columbus unit in my MY17? My kids love it when they've been in the back of "grandad's" car.
  21. @JR RS Thanks for that, i'll give it a go tonight. I did wonder if some of those options needed changing as well.
  22. @Gizmo I also tried to activate No. 2 (alarm chirps) on my MY17 Superb but don't get an option on the infotainment under the opening and closing menu? The only replies to this issue i can find relate to a clone lead. Photo below of option prior to clicking 'save', after reading controller afterwards it showed as 'active' (forgive the poor quality, i only took to save a log of any changes i made and wasn't intended for sharing ). I'm running genuine HEX v2 with VCDS v20.4.0 - all other options i've activated have been accepted and worked fine (fog lights as coming home lights, fan speed showing on AUTO, DRL option on infotainment, driving mode on maxi-dot, refuel quantity, heated seat memory level for passenger, Audi throttle, etc.). Any ideas what i might be doing wrong or do i need to activate some of the other associated options?
  23. My wife's Fabia had a cable clip right in the edge of the tread on the shoulder. A mate at a tyre garage said it could be repaired but they weren't able to as they only did the plug repairs - he said to find a garage who does vulcanised rubber repairs. Funnily enough my local garage, less than a mile away did, and repaired with no fuss. You may need to be classed as a 'key worker' with a letter from work as some garages are restricting work to this group at the moment.
  24. @langers2k I had mine changed Friday and has sorted mine too. My experience mirrored yours, coolant only getting between 75-80, and oil the same - on my way home in traffic after it was replaced the coolant held solid at 90, and oil was up to ~93 again - success! Driving to Denmark the end of next week so didn't want to risk not sorting beforehand. My mechanic did say it was a b!t*h of a job to get to though - although he did clean up my throttle body while he had it off.
