  1. I did suspect badge snobbery being the reason he sped up. I don't know if he has made mention of the video or shown it to the police, if he hasn't then it's 2 statements versus my own and that's what I'm scared of. It does have a note at the bottom of the letter saying it might not go any further, but I thought the police would speak to me first before getting sent an nip?
  2. No passenger in my car and no collision. Just an nip. Called 101 to find out more and they said it's just a waiting game and the officer dealing with it will make contact today when she's back in work. Is it worthwhile seeking legal advice before speaking to police? Gf has shown me a few websites dedicated to motoring offenses like motorlawyer.co.uk or motoroffence.co.uk
  3. Got a letter through on Friday about an incident that happened on the 22nd of Jan at the airport roundabout on the A96. The letter says I drove either 1) dangerously or 2) without due care and attention. What happened is on approaching the roundabout heading towards Inverurie I caught up with a BMW M5, we were both in the right lane turning right towards the airport. He was driving like he was lost or looking for something (slowly, not paying attention to the road ahead) and after completing the turn around the roundabout he moved to the left (assuming he was letting me pass) and I stayed to the right making use of the merging lane. As I almost got past him, he sped up to stop me completing the merge and forced me into on coming traffic. He eventually braked and let me in, then started to follow me closely and starting shouting and pointing to his car cam. Next set of traffic lights he pulled up along side me and said he caught it on camera and his wife was calling the police. I never managed to get his registration plate, otherwise I would have reported him immediately. Now I'm worried and surprised that I've been accused of dangerous driving, when he was the one driving dangerously.
  4. Ah bugger, thanks for the quick answer.
  5. I have a sky dish that has cables going to 3 rooms. 2 of these rooms have sky boxes and the 3rd doesn't. Can I change the end fitting of the cable from fitting a sky box to that which will plug into the back of the tv and get freeview? Tia, Drew.
  6. This not a potential console bush, as mine used to creak quite a bit but there wasn't anything wrong with it.
  7. If its broken at the connector, just cut the wire 6 inches or so from the connector from the scrap car and solder in and then heat shrink.
  8. Can you not just get cut the bit you need off a scrap car and repair?
  9. In my phonebook, contacts are saved as John Smith, but when going through the phone book via the bolero it is displayed as Smith John. Is this something that can be sorted with a scan/fault clear? Not had the time to get it checked out with VCDS yet, due to working offshore.
  10. Did you fit everything yourself or did you get help? What kind of prices did you pay (if you don't mind me asking) I think I have seriously underestimated just how much a refitting a kitchen is going to cost...
  11. That is exactly the kind of colour scheme I'm looing at. White cupboards with a light/medium brown wood effect worktop. http://www.wickes.co.uk/kitchen/ready-to-fit/Dakota http://www.wickes.co.uk/kitchen/ready-to-fit/orlando-white Tried looking on the howdens website and they don't seem to show prices? Could be that I'm offshore and the wifi is terrible web pages aren't fully loading. Pain is, I just painted the kitchen yellow as it has yellow, white and black random tiles and a yellow-ish wood effect finish to the cupboards. What colour wall and floor you go for? GF quite likes the grey walls and floor like dakota kitchen from wickes. Thanks everyone for all the help and advice.
  12. Getting someone to do the do the worktops was always the plan. Don't have the tools to cut a hole for the sink etc.
  13. Thanks for all the replies. The kitchen is just cheap, built badly and falling apart. Doors are squint and catching on the worktop, the worktop is sagging on one side of the kitchen and the worktop where the sink is, has started to expand making door opening difficult. The layout of the kitchen as is, I'm happy with. Not really looking at improving anything as I imagine this is where you could get caught up with novelties/going high end and start getting really expensive. Electrical wise, would like to relocate a few sockets, but only by a few feet. Not looking at doing any downlighting etc. By replacing like for like, I thought it would be the easier option as I know what I have already fitted, so just get the exact same (but better quality). Would probably get a laminate worktop, can these be mitre cut for a better look? The current worktops are laminate and have black joining strips that have started to peel/flake and look terrible.
  14. Looking likely that I need to replace my kitchen. Pretty decent at doing DIY work and would like to give it a go, minus cutting the worktops. Just how difficult a job is it and any tips to make the job easier/make the final outcome look that bit better? Looking to buy from Wickes and replace like for like the cabinets etc except add a larder/tall cupboard. Where/ho do I start with removing the wall mounted cupboard? Is everything hidden by the "backs" of the cupboards? Thanks.
  15. Good call I say. Interior lights they are perfect, puddle lights they are better than standard. Yet to fit the same LED's in the boot as there is no excess cable to the back of the light, so going to have to remove a few trim pieces...
  16. I know this has been asked to death, but links provided in old topics no longer work. Just after opinions on the better style of bulb for replacing the interior, boot and puddle light 501 bulbs. The following seller comes up as one of the favourite, but he has 3 styles to choose from: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290617034689?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10x-LED-501-W5W-T10-PUSH-WEDGE-HID-XENON-WHITE-SIDE-LIGHT-BULBS-UK-1YR-WARRANTY-/300611754155?hash=item45fddb58ab http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10x-5-SMD-LED-501-T10-W5W-PUSH-WEDGE-CAPLESS-BRIGHT-WHITE-SIDE-LIGHT-BULBS-L-K-/290699342297?hash=item43af07f1d9 Which would be best for interior, boot and puddle? TIA.
  17. Not sure who the "engineer" works for, will need to find out. I hope I did take legal protection. Again will need to find out. If I'm insured with Red Star through Chris Knots (I have never been in touch with Red Star) do I call Red Star or Chris Knots to complain?
  18. How does that backup that £3400 is a fair price for my car?
  19. Just had this email reply today. "Good Afternoon. Please be advised I have had this response from the engineers there will not be an increase from the independent assessors unfortunately." And this is what the engineer had sent in the email, no words, just this. 20. That's what I thought, I'm only after an additional £400, then I'd be happy. Not being greedy, not taking the ****, just after what I'm due. Thanks for your help and time on this.
  21. 2006 hatchback, petrol vrs. 90,000 miles on clock. 18" alloys, full elec. windows, dual climate control, OEM reverse parking sensors, jumbo box, cd changer, FSH. Think that's the important stuff. edit: and timing belt/water pump got done around 3 years ago.
  22. Gone through that many times telling them "I was the one not at fault, I just want to be put into a similar car as I had before the accident. Why should I suffer for her stupid mistake/lack of skill" I will request this topic is locked to avoid any confusion.
  23. All potential cars were down south when I looked (over 200 miles away) Ended up finding a 2011 elegance estate 4miles away at AC Mercedes.
