I had a similar issue with my pan sunroof ,managed to get it closed . I had a couple of inches of water in all footwells , checked drainage outlets found the drainage hose on both front drains were kinked and always had been .This happened after a heavy snowfall then thawed while I was away on a trip and car was in drive .In the end I went to a local vinyl wrapping shop. I asked for a 50mm strip round all edges and middle joint black gloss vinyl pulled the fuses for roof and blind no more water , no more open sunroof . I have a mate whose had the same issue with a VW tiguan pan roof cost about £100 if I remember

I have 2012 L&K panoramic sun roof no issues until 2022 after heavy snow , being away for the weekend went to open car with key fob , roof opened for no apparent reason , not the long press that opens all windows and roof .The car had a couple of inches of water in every footwell. Bailed it out manually closed sun roof ,checked roof drains rear were ok front both sides were kinked almost flat where they attached to rubber grommet drain outlet removed plugs from sunroof an blind switch removed fuses .Took car to vinyl wrapping company had a 2 inch vinyl strip covering all sunroof seals .Still have water ingress with heavy rain coming through passenger side just above bonnet release lever Yet to solve this .also happened to my friends ,Toureg pan roof .

Only owned DSG for 6 weeks previously had 08, 140 manual Octavia L&K combi for 5 yrs .I am now converted read lots and does not worry me in the slightest. My mate the Skoda nutter mechanic always told me don't touch the 2.0 tdi stick to the 1.9 tdi. Still have not shown him this one he will go ballistic. He did all the MOT's last 5 yrs never had a bad word to say about it . the new one is 170 012 Superb L&K combi he hates Superbs not the same build quality he reckons . -
