Lane Assist & Traffic Sign Recognition
I’ve got the two green circles on the screen, but not the two other “white’ circles, so I’m guessing the car doesn’t have those options, despite being a 28 June 2024 reg vehicle. Thanks for the image.

Lane Assist & Traffic Sign Recognition
Just picked up our new (to us) 24 reg SEL Karoq 4x4 Tdi. Still trying to get to grips with the infotainment and other systems. I've only had limited time to really explore the tech - so apologies if I've missed something very obvious. However,... Looking at the driver assist menu on the central screen, I can only see the front assist and driver awareness icons and no mention of TSR or Lane Assist on the screen. The car's SE L spec description listed these two items as standard on the SE L. Where might I find them (if at all!)?

Tyre pressures after service.
I’ve never heard of changing tyre pressures for different’ modes other then increasing the pressure in my winter tyres, so that’s good to know- thank you. Yes, I don’t know when I mentally switched to kpa instead of psi - these things sneak up on you sometimes 😀

Tyre pressures after service.
We had the car serviced last week (Skoda indy specialist - used for years) and first thing this morning I checked the tyres pressures as we're off on a long drive tomorrow. All tyres read 245 Kpa. Usually I set these as per manual/fuel lid indicator for 16" 215/45/16 tyres which is (low load) 210 kpa recommended. I think this is not the first time I've noticed higher tyre pressures after a service. I wondered if the garage gauge was out. Of course, it could be my gauge, but as I use it regularly to set the tyre pressures on our Subaru and that consistency confirms via individual tyre TPMS the digital gauge I use when testing, I think my gauge is fairly accurate. Any thoughts?

Owner's manual/handbook
Does anyone have a link to a Karoq 2024 owner's manual/handbook ( other than this one https://digital-manual.skoda-auto.com/w/en_GB/show/85c07e63cd9801acac144525590089a0_1_en_GB?ct=85c07e63cd9801acac144525590089a0_1_en_GB&subt=d5024568e46685~d5024568e48572~d5024568e2246#titled5024568e2344 ) ? I'm looking for one that resembles a 'book' I can flick/search through, rather than the link above which has a plethora of drop down menus I'm finding difficult to navigata through. Maybe there isn't one!. I want to familiarise myself with some controls before we collect the vehicle next week. Thanks in advance.

Skoda Karoq 16" Steel Wheel & Bridgestone Winter Tyre Set
We only once took the Yeti to the Alps and so had to have snow chains in the car, but didn't have to use them in the end. However, I'm fairly sure (but I'm not infallible ) that our Yeti 4x4 owner's manual said rear fitting only. Unfortunately, the handbook/manual was passed onto the new owners. I've just checked a few sights to jog my memory and found these: https://www.yetiownersclub.co.uk/threads/snow-chains.2031/ https://www.kopacek.com/Skoda/Yeti/Yeti-4x4-snow-chains-for-16-and-17-wheels This vid also shows them fitted only to the rear wheels. It seems odd, as if you had a 2x4 yeti there'd be no drive to the rear, so they'd be little point!

Would that have any implications, such as for using snow chains, etc.? I seem to recall that on my old Yeti, snow chains could only be used on the rear axe.

Our Fabia’s winter steels are 15” rims so I think we’d be pushing it! Definitely not Škoda recommended for the Karoq range of wheels.

Skoda Australia - 7 year warranty?
I've recently been consuming lots of Karoq videos in anticipation of buying one and recently came across this car test. If the presenter is correct, Skoda Oz offer 7 years warranty, and this 'Style' level of trim (= SE L ?) comes with a powered tailgate and ACC. I was also interested to hear that the automatic transmission is a 'torque converter' and not a DCT. I'd always thought the DSG was a version of DCT, but it's not my area of expertise so gladly be corrected and maybe down under DSG isn't an option. The car in the test also has blind spot monitoring, not standard in on the SEL (I think then new SE L Edition may have this though). Those 7 years of warranty though...

Converting Karoq SE-L with space saver spare wheel to full-size spare wheel
Just checking. Has anyone acquired a 135/80R18 space saver tyre listed on Camskill ,or found elsewhere, and if so, did it fit readily into the 4x4 spare tyre kit and lower boot of the Karoq? I'm interested as I definitely need a spare, and will just have to 'suck-it-up' that a full size isn't going to fit neatly. Hey ho. I also found this wheel https://www.amazon.co.uk/Space-Saver-Spare-Wheel-onwards/dp/B0BZYRR7J7 from Road Hero. Again, has anyone experience of Road Hero items regarding quality, etc.?

GardX/G3 paint and interior protection
Thanks again mumpsim, that was my gut feeling too. I can see you're going to be my 'go-to' guru for the 'new' Karoq

GardX/G3 paint and interior protection
We're going to collect our pre-reg Karoq next week, and the dealer has asked us if we'd like "GardX/G3 paint and interior protection" at £399. I assume it's a typo and its GuardX. Normally I'd stay clear (no pun) of these add ons and extras when buying a car, but wanting to challenge my own prejudices, I thought I'd quickly ask the community's collective opinion first. The car has clocked up about 200 miles . We live in a rural spot, far from the coast and while there are trees, it's otherwise mainly open fell. The lanes here are regularly gritted in winter. Any thoughts?

Skoda Karoq 16" Steel Wheel & Bridgestone Winter Tyre Set
Well you've made me smile with fond memories. I had spectrums too on my last two Yetis. I think at the time I purchased them Skoda (Simpsons?) were offering them at a discount. They served well over many winters and when I and the last Yeti parted company in 2020, the rims and tyres went gratis to a local person. They were looking a bit salt shattered by then, but that was just cosmetic. You've also reminded me that my last 2.0 tdi 4x4 Yeti drove quite fine on 16" rims (I think it came with 17" rims as standard). Thanks also for the photo of the Karoq on 16" rubbers. Looks great.

Roadside Assistance - used car.
Oooophs! Answered my own question by further research - should have gone to specs savers moment

Roadside Assistance - used car.
Does Skoda Roadside Assistance now only cover roadside repair and/or towing to the nearest Skoda authorised garage? I seem to recall that when we last purchased our Skodas (both in 2016), that the residue of the 3 year warranty that came with them also covered AA/Skoda Relay and Home Start. If it is now only literally roadside and a short tow, I'll stick to our current AA breakdown cover which covers both of us, in whatever car we're in (even someone else's) and includes Relay, Home Start etc. I guess all companies are tightening their belts!

Skoda Karoq 16" Steel Wheel & Bridgestone Winter Tyre Set
Brilliant! Thanks 'guys' that's really helpful and food for thought. I also came across this video giving opinions on the 16" vs 18" issues: https://tireforge.com/16-vs-18-inch-wheels-ride-quality/ I'm now mentally chuntering to myself about 16" steels or 17" alloys...or....

Skoda Karoq 16" Steel Wheel & Bridgestone Winter Tyre Set
Yes, I've looked at Bridgestone over the years and have noticed how well they have performed, etc.. (Yes, Tyre Reviews site are on my favourite Youtube list ). I think my main concern is the possible impact on the car's driving characteristics with a shift from 18" wheels to 16" and with a deeper profile. Softer (that's OK), noisier? The car has the 'performance pack' so I don't know (I'm guessing not) that this will have any relevance to a change in wheel size and profile depth. I know! I'm over thinking this! However, I have just spotted this which is encouraging: https://www.tyrereviews.com/Article/The-differences-between-16-17-and-18-Inch-winter-tyres.htm I know steels are heavier, but their ability to absorb some of the pot-hole bashes and other debris found in winter does appeal. I'm keen to buy Skoda original and endorsed equipment so as not to run into the potential 'modified' issues with some car insurance companies.

Skoda Karoq 16" Steel Wheel & Bridgestone Winter Tyre Set
My partner is due to collect her new, to us, 2024 Karoq 2.0 TDi (150 ps) 4x4 SE L next week. She currently has a Fabia and when we bought it back in 2016 we ordered a set of steel wheels, shod it with winters, and over the years we've (I've) swopped over the wheels from November to April. I've wondered whether we should just put all season tyres on like a set of the well thought of Crossclimates, but we live at 1200 ft above sea level in a very hilly rural sport, wet sinking verges on single tract roads, etc., etc.) and we drive on and off sometimes muddy winter fields to do equestrian stuff. Consequently, we've put winters on both of our cars for years and have been well (and safely) served so far. As I do the swopping over on the drive it has allowed us to have the ease of changing whenever necessary, without having to go and book into tyre fitters. But, if we go for winter tyres and steels again, do you think these will fit OK? https://caffynscarparts.com/skoda-karoq-16-steel-wheel--bridgestone-winter-tyre-set-5095-p.asp I think the car currently has 225/50 R18 (the Skoda brochure says 215s! - but I think that's a typo?). It's dropping down 2' in diameter for the wheel from alloys to steels, whereas our current steels are just 1" smaller diameter than the summer Fabia alloys. My Subaru Outback also goes down from 18" alloys to 17" steels, without issues, but 16" ? I know the profile will be deeper and the ride softer, but wonder about any other issues I've not considered with this change. I appreciate the Bridgestones supplied on these rims wouldn't necessarily be our first choice, but they're a premium brand and will do initially. I'd welcome people's views - thanks in advance.

Karoq Performance Package
Thanks Kenny. I've read the blurb, but wondered whether day-to-day it made much difference for a 'standard' driver. We do live in a very hilly, rural spot in the, sometimes, snowy north Pennines, and we do drive on and off fields, along tracks and through shallow becks (to do horsey stuff). But we (my partner and I) aren't what you'd call sporty enthusiastic drivers, but rather 'steady away' folk. I've had two Yetis in the past, and they did have a tendency after 30,000 miles of ownership to go through a few coil springs. If this should happen with the Karoq with the 'performance pack', would we be looking towards a more expensive repair, or wouldn't it make any difference? The Skoda information above states that "the 4x4 variants will also benefit from Hill Ascent/Descent Control..." although my old 4x4 Yetis had that on the 'off-road' button.

Karoq Performance Package
Hi. On the same theme as this tread, can someone provide an 'idiots' guide to the 'performance pack' on the Karoq? I'm currently looking to buy a used diesel 4x4 and the performance pack comes with it. It's not something (I think) I'd usually ask for on a car, but if I want this particular used vehicle it's part of the deal. Specifically: 1. What is it? 2. What are the advantages? 3 Perhaps more importantly, what, if any, are the disadvantages?

Cambelt change - straightforward?
My 2016 Fabia has just clocked up 77000 miles and looking through the past service receipts (Skoda specialist, not a main dealer) I can't see that the cambelt has not been changed yet - which seems fine from what I've read about servicing the Fabia. This year's service is due in a few weeks and I'm thinking the belt might be best changed about now. However, I'm wondering if this addition task to the annual service is something that any local competent garage might be able to do, instead of me driving further, and having to spend the day waiting, at my trusted indy Skoda I've been using for 20 years now with all of my Skodas. The alternative local garage I'm thinking of is in the next village, so I can easily get a lift home and get picked up by them later. While I really rate my indy Skoda dealer, it has always meant my having to take an hour to drive there, and kill time walking the streets of the local town until they complete the job. Now I'm getting on a bit, such wandering around and window shopping is a little more chanllenging, espcially if it's raining ! So basically - is the local garage likely to be readily able to do the belt too? Nothing too specilaist regarding the Fabia? Thanks in adavance for all helpful replies.
