  1. Hi, The easiest way to do this is mentioned in the official manual. If you stand by the drivers door and use the keyfob to lock/unlock the car as normal you will notice that the red led inside the car near the door mirror will flash. When the car is fully alarmed the red led will continue to blink on/off every couple of seconds or so. This signifies the car inside/outside is fully alarmed as you would normally want to leave it. On a typical ferry trip (or on the back of a transporter!) the alarm will trigger as the car is rocked by waves etc. To disable this stand by the drivers door and use the keyfob to lock the car as normal but, now press the lock button again, twice within two seconds of locking, you will notice the red led blink on/off a few times then go off and remain so. This visually tells you the alarm will not trigger by gentle rocking (try it) on the ferry crossing but that external things like door opening etc is still operational. The twice within two seconds might need just a little practice to get the timings right. If the red led still blinks on/off try again.
  2. My Samsung Ultra was exactly the same at first, when car was new in late 2024. I tried all suggestions from here... Try without the spigen case, try the opposite way round, try the dealer 🤣, software updates, try upside down etc etc etc. Nothing worked. Then suddenly, not precisely sure when, but it suddenly started working. Same car, same phone, same case. It's been perfect ever since. The only thing I would add is that even when it's working it's very poor/slow charger. I've driven 100's of miles with it on charge and the amount of charge the phone receives can be bettered with the proper charger at home in a couple of hours.
  3. For further explanation of this see the red lights in the photo?
  4. Hi, I have a 2024 Skoda Superb Mk4 (I call it Mr. Hyde) for obvious reasons. For some reason it has suddenly started showing two lit red LED's; one either side of the SOS button in the pod above the rear view mirror. It still shows the green LED; I suppose to say the SOZS function is working. I questioned this with my local dealer with the expected answer... not sure, if there are no other warning lights on the dash just ignore it! They went off briefly driving back from town, but then came on again a few miles further along. They must be trying to tell me something? Does anyone out there know what?
  5. Hi, I had a similar 'fault' earlier in the year. You feel like a total berk waving your foot around praying for it to open! My dealer had it in and diagnosed a faulty 12v battery. I was very sceptical, but the battery was changed and hey presto, the tailgate operation was perfect. Another strange effect was that suddenly the tailgate struts were MUCH smoother/quieter in operation. Good luck.
  6. My 2004 Skoda Superb SEL (which I've christened 'Jeckyll & Hyde' because you never quite know!) has amongst a long list of defects that my 2015 L&K never ever had, the intermittant fault of often turning hill hold off. Earlier this year it did have 'the' software update that was supposed to correct the many (well documented in these pages) gliches present from new. It probably was better behaved after this? but by no means cured. However the intermittant hill hold is very annoying. Skoda really should have fixed all the software problems by now. Perhaps they need to get Rivian to sort this out properly once and for all? Also how often, if ever, have any of you had 'over the air' updates? In our car never, whilst friends with other branded cars tell me they have perhaps 2 to 3, or more a year.
  7. I had s Mk3 Superb and now have a Mk4. The seat ventilation now is definately nowhere near a good as the previous car. In the Mk3 I sometimes had to turn the control down from maximum (or even off!) if I felt a chill. Not this one, the control remains on maximum and I still wish their was more.
  8. I picked up my new Superb SEL last October. I had specced a factory fit retractable tow bar, which cost me £1105 in total. I always smile when I read of all the problems people have when they decide against the factory option and go their own way. They ultimately seem to end up paying more for a load of hassle and/or an inferior product? Mine is just brilliant. It works flawlessly with a Thule 2x e-bike carrier. The hardest part I find is connecting/disconnecting the cable. I am always amazed at how easy it all is although as an ex-engineer I still think of all the loads it takes with the carrier and 2 e-bikes over our pot-hole eneven road surfaces! I hope everyone does get sorted out but my advise through experience is to take the factory fit option.
  9. I got mine back from the dealers yesterday and it now seems to work perfectly! They fitted new boot lock/latch to cure the 'not locking shut correctly' and diagnosed a faulty 12V battery as being the cause of pretty well all of the other problems. I was a little sceptical. But, as stated everything now seems to work fine. The hatch opens and closes with any combination of the various methode available, so, well done Skoda. I may be imagining it but the battery does not have any cover fitted (can't see anyway how it would be fitted) but a niggling memory seems to remember one. Also I need to find out if the new one is an EFB, AGM, or whatever so I can set my charger up correctly if I need it. As an asside the noise the hatch makes opening/closes sounds different, smoother perhaps, with the new battery. I do still miss the additional warning brake light flashes and beeps I had in my old Mk3 L&K Superb when opening/closing the hatch.
  10. Mines in the dealers now. Being 'fixed'!
  11. I have a Superb Mk4 with a factory fitted retractable tow ball. This summer I intend to use a Thule Eastfold 2 bike carrier to carry our 2 Eovolt electric bikes. Will I have to change any settings when I do this? Will it affect the reversing camera? Will the emergency brake be activated when I try to reverse (I hope not, it's rather severe!)? I'm assuming the trailer option in the menus is just for trailers? Can I just mount the carrier and bikes and drive away as normal? Any comments from other forum members with experience of this would be most useful.
  12. Another annoying downgrade from the previous model is how late it is telling you where to turn off. Driving to somewhere with multiple motorways and A roads like like the Trafford Centre is particularly bothersome and to a degree dangerous. Previous version gave you plenty of warning - much better!
  13. I picked up my Mk4 superb in October, trading in my much loved Mk3. Apart from a selection of the software woes reported widely on this forum I also now suffer fro poor hatch/boot closing. But possibly my biggest disapointment is the poor operation of the SatNav compared to the Mk3's. It's as if they either ran out of time, or had to take costs out of it. Where is the choice of routes from the Mk3. And why is the Mk4's SatVav so determined to get you on a motorway, even if this entails a major diversion to get there? I live in hope that somewhwer somone is working on an update? It certainly needs one!
  14. I did contact the dealers and it's due in (again) on Friday 25th April. It has actually got worse now. It's reluctant to close by any of the closing methods, hatch switch, in car switch, or foot waving. Makes you feel a bit of a tit stood there waving your foot while the hatch starts to move, pings , then stop abruptly. Also now when it does power itself closed it does not always close with enough force to activate the closing latch. You have to start it opening with the hatch switch above th number plate, manualy stop it about a foot or so open, then manually slam it shut to close properly - not good! With all the above now I can't help thinking it's something to do with the struts - not all the switches. Hoping they can fix it on Friday, but not holding my breath.
  15. I also had this very same problem. Sometimes the switch would work fine; sometimes it would take several attempts, beep, then stop. This same behaviour also happened with the internal switch and 'foot swiping' under the bumper. I took it to the dealers, they checked it and said it needed the tailgate switch replacing. This was fitted last week and all seemed to be OK. The fault is now back but possibly not quite as bad? I'm not sure I can be bothered with the dealers again and may wait for the 1st service?
  16. I've played about with mine a bit more now and decided it just does not like the Spigen case I am using (not necessarily Spigens fault I suspect any case would cause the same problems). I allways use Spigen cases. Spigen advertise this case as being wireless charging compatible, but with the case on the best it will charge is for 2-3 minutes. With the case off it's much better, almost perfect. I have contacted Spigen support about this and am currently waiting for a reply.
  17. Looked at my phone this morning and NFC is not turned on, so it can't be that. I'm sure I've seen somewhere that the S25 Ultra has a new protocol for wireless charging (G12 or G20?). If so will probably have to wait for Skoda to support it with an over the air update? I was just hoping that someone out there with an S25 range phone would share their experiences.
  18. Worth a try. Will get on to it in the morning. Cheers.
  19. Hi, I have just upgraded from a galaxy S20 mobile phone to a galaxy S25 ultra. The S20 wireless charged perfectly in my superb mk4 but the s25 constantly fails. It puts a long fail message on the screen to say things like it detects a credit card or the phone is out of position or various others. Anyone else having problems?
  20. Hi, I have the Dofida wheels on my Superb SE. I think they look quite good but are a bit fiddly to keep clean. They do have one very annoying design 'fault'; they have a 20mm x 10mm (ish) deep groove just behind the spokes around the full circumference of the wheel. This groove obviously collects dust/dirt etc then when it rains (or you wash it) the dirt gets floated to the lowest part nearest the road. It then dries out and you have a localised patch of dirt in the wheel. Depending how youv'e parked it's either very visible or not at all!
  21. Hi, I used to have a 2 litre L&K Mk3 superb which we loved. In October we changed it for a 1.5 litre SE L which felt very strange at first. I could be accuse of being old fashioned (72 !). I am not conviced about all the functions moving away from actual buttons onto the screen ... but it is growing on me and the actual car drives really well. We noticed a slight difference between the power of the 2 cars for about a week. On shorter journeys to and from town we easily get 30+ mpg (20's on the old one) and on longer journeys easily exceed 45mpg, 52mpg on one trip. As regards the finance... We took advantage of all the offers that taking finance gave, picked up the car and the following week cancelled the finance! Skoda then sent us an invoice after a couple of weeks which we paid off in full. Easy! and well worth it for the extras. I should mention that due to some illness we have not done a lot of mileage in the car and expect the mpg figures above to improve steadily as we do.
  22. Is this software update supposed to be installed on all Mk4 Superbs? I picked my 1.5 SEL in early October and whilst I don't seem to have anywhere near the problems other have had, I have had several annoying gliches since then. I did have one or two yellow lights early on but driving the car seems to have cleared these up. I still have several annoying things not working properly. The car seems to turn off hill hold for both myself and my wife whenever it feels like it. This also happens with engine on/off at junctions. Lane keeping is a bit temperamental but I've got used to it now. It's so subdued when its working that I never feel inclined to turn it off anyway! Other random 'happenings are so minor that I just swear at the computer and forget about them. They should not happen though!!! Other non-software faults I have experienced so far... The boot catch wouldn't pull the hatch fully closed; now fixed. The Hatch refuses to close until the third push of the closing button. Attempts one and two just get a 'bong' and some slight movement. It all works as expected if you shake a foot at it! Getting back to the opening sentence... When I mentioned some of these 'known' faults to the head of sevice at my local dealer he claimed not to know anything about them. I had to show him some of the earlier briskoda posts and reference to a TPI2075197/3 and he checking this before he would believe me. If this a general recall, should the dealer be contacting me, or do I have to chase them up about it? Does anyone have a copy of the rcall (Service Recall 91SV, I believe) that can be posted on this forum.
