sean_92 replied to simmo3187's topic in North West England
sounds good mate, count me in ! will have to know dates to sort it around work -
edit : than with the standard shocks, B8 dampers+H&R's = comfier ride
-
if you want to get rid of the crashy suspension, then have a look at the Bilstein B8 dampers pal, much much better than with the H&R's and comfier! i did 3k miles on the standard shocks and Awsome GTI sorted me a decent deal on them. Just a thought should you want to have a less crashy ride

From the album: The Furby!
After a good wash and wax while it wasnt raining! -
I've got the Jetex catback on my car and it does sound much better than standard but not intrusive while driving around town or at 70mph on the motorway. Definately sounds MEGA when you boot it ! No Extra on the insurance for me as im only 20, plus the tailpipes fill the the bumper better than the standard ones. IMO a good purchase but can always cut the middle silencer out if you didnt want to spend that much

strange knocking noise from front suspension, any ideas?
sean_92 replied to sean_92's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
After having a good look at the suspension on the ramp at work, found that the top mount bearing is shot, and the rubber that it sits with was cut to ribbons! Decided to change both sides, initially seemed to sort it but the same knocking noise has appeared, had a second look to see what it could be and it looks like the hole where the strut comes through the hub has a tiny bit of damage to it, The car is going in for a 2nd oil consumption test and hopefully the breather mod, so i shall ask for them to have a look and see what they can make of it FIngers crossed this wont cost too much to fix! -
My car has developed a really weird hollow knocking noise when going over pot holes. I've had the H&R springs fitted and they are fine but im just concerned that there isnt enought compression on the rubber mount. My question is; what do you think it could be? should i bother to look for uprated shocks that are designed for lowering springs? any help would be greatly appreciated! Sean

the jextex half system does sound better than stock but not ovally loud and looks the part, had it fitted to today after having the car in at the dealers for 2 weeks while they did the oil consumtion tests and found that my car wasnt using oil, even thought i had to put 2L of oil in it after 2k miles :/ puzzling ! Getting the remap done on thursday so that should be good. i will try to upload a video of how my exhaust looks and sounds sean

Well I will be adding the down pipe after Xmas and stage 2 map but at the moment the car will be going in to the dealers as its used 2l of oil in the last 2 thousand miles and its done 18k so probably will need oil breather fix I hope but see what they come up with
-
as long as it doesnt rattle the whole car then it will be fine but judging by the videos from Confide, it will be a good purchase. I am goin with APR software, loaded at local tuners; Awesome GTI having it done next thursday. I do want to get th ITG intake kit for the car aswell as the forge one i have now isnt that good and doesnt make that much of difference, put original intake back on and the car seems faster! -_-
-
sounds good! just going for the catback for now and stage 1 software, then upgrade to stage 2 and downpipe after christmas. i want the look aswell a better note from the exhaust but not so its in your face loud

Hi all, Being new to this, i was just wondering if any one has had a jetex exhaust fitted to the vRS? I would have the full system with the downpipe but not really got funds for that and stage 2 map. is there a better exhaust note than from stock? Sean
