There is an EU recommended limit of 74dB for vehicles, bikes often have aftermarket silencers fitted, (silencer, yeah right!!) these have to be certified to BS AU 193/T2 and produce no more than 82dB for the largest bikes. Plods dont have dB meters so it is very subjective, try and avoid ones with headaches!!!! Taz

Hi Swing I have recently joined this forum, new Octavia ordered last week. Had an unlimited choice really, a BMW 318i would have been £25 quid cheaper than the Skoda I ordered, but value for money and kit nothing came close to an Octy. Test drove many cars, I have gone for a 2.0PD TDi Elegance DSG with extra's, fantastic car to drive. My dealer offered me an extended test drive and the lease company have agreed to order the car through them. Good luck with the search Paul

Having spent many hours poring over the forum, I have taken the leap of faith and ordered an Octavia. Passat (can I use that word?) is going. 2.0 TDi DSG Elegance in Graphite Grey Sat Nav Xenons 17" wheels and sports suspension, dealer has 18" pegasus ones but money run out. Any tips welcome during my 10 week wait. Need a decent phone kit, not bluetooth.

Definately 18", apperently a dealer fit option, I think the car was on standard suspension, forgot to ask, it was very quiet, mates Octy with 17" sports is pretty noisy.

Hi everyone new to this forum, first Skoda on order, delivery in June and cannot wait. RE; wipers, I have always used RainX on the windows, fantastic stuff, dont bother with the wipers, only at low speeds, high speeds in pouring rain intermittent is fine. Have seen a demo car today with 18" pegasus type alloys....WOW:thumbup:
