  1. Found similar on my 2018 hatch month ago, water pooling on inside centre of seal dripping down boot lock and into spare wheel well. On mine found the boot seal was slightly loose on L/H lower corner so the water was getting through to the inside, refitted and been ok since.
  2. Had hatch version for 5 months/7500 miles. Very pleased with overall, comfy, quick, handles well generally, well equipped. I'm getting around 47mpg avg around country A&B roads, around 51 mpg avg if doing longer trips. Airbag fault light once and oil sensor light on for a few days, but all reset. Software wise can be a bit slow or glitchy at times, but not that serious for me and generally resets if you switch car off/on. On-line updates do slowly seem to be improving the glitches and just been booked in for a 'software recall' by the dealer next week. Otherwise just rattly tailgate which with Mechanic bootlatch adjustment and me greasing the sliding side-plates, is fairly sorted. Had mk2.5 tdi vRS, and both 2wd and 4wd mk 3 tdi vRS, this is the best version I've had. Great car overall.
  3. Hi all, RE: the vRS driver's seat backrest slowly reclining back on its own, can any of you confirm you've got that problem with manual cloth seats ? Dealer are only aware of issue with some electric seats, so want to confirm there's a few doing it before I write into Skoda. Boot rattle, they adjusted the tailgate latch today and sounds a lot better so far. Oil sensor faulty light - had gone off and they couldn't find anything. Could someone check for me if you get a 'oil symbol warning check light' come on when you put the ignition on please ? I've noticed mine doesn't show that symbol when you put the ignition on, but not sure if it used to or not.
  4. Thanks all for the feedback, glad I'm not the only one who thought they were going mad with the seat! Have taken spare wheel out as well as everything else and am trying adjusting the 2 rubber tailgate stops each trip, but no joy yet. Its booked in week after next so will post any definite fixes.
  5. Should start with very happy with the car and the way it drives, plus got used now to the slow touchscreen and having to switch off lane change/stop-start/fake sound each time I use it. At 2 months/4k miles it's going in for a couple of early issues though and was wondering if anyone else has had/fixed these :- 1. Yellow warning light come on for oil sensor faulty - running fine and oil and water temperatures are normal. 2. Annoying rattle from back when going over any bump at low speed - I've taken everything out of the boot incl. spare wheel, carpet and parcel shelf and suspect it's the tailgate best I can tell. 3. Drivers seat (manual) gradually reclines back a bit during a long trip/couple of days.
  6. Great car back in the day ! (non Police version )
  7. Ordered a VRS 4x4 hatch with winterpack on 02nd December and expected the usual 14 weeks build time + Christmas shutdown + maybe some Covid delays; but got call last week saying it's built and its being shipped ! Guess I got lucky maybe with a car already about to be built, or sales are down that much factories are able to build quicker.
  8. Phew ! Have had the intermittent 'Park warning' fault for a while now but it's started to get worse of late, car's done 80k miles. So just been in to my local dealer North Wales Skoda (service lads there are always good to be fair) and was bracing myself for the worst, an expensive parking selector mechanism fix. But got a call to say they can replace the microswitch, so just the switch cost and some labour ! Thanks to this forum for keeping us in the loop with faults/fixes and a decent Skoda dealer !
  9. I liked my 14 plate VRS TDI manual best, when driven in sports mode and used to average 50 mpg, bit more on motorways. Changed to a 16 plate VRS TDI 4x4 and couldn't really get the DSG to drive how I wanted, tried a DTUK tuning box, but still didn't get it really how I wanted so took it off. After 2 years I bought DTUK pedal box and now the car is a joy to drive. I set the pedal box to mid setting + 1 and leave the DSG in normal and it just makes the throttle and DSG work how I want. I've only ever averaged 43-ish, but get high 40-s on a run on dual carriageways/motorways. If on lock pulling away from a junction hard, you can get it to tramp/spin, but otherwise generally o.k. OBD 11 did throw up a haldex fault, which garage found rear haldex pump had gone, but that was around 60k miles. Can't comment on the DSG upgrade, but might be worth you speaking to DTUK about trying a pedal box.
  10. Looks a pretty fair price to be fair. I paid around £280ish with discount for front discs and pads. I'd of got local ex-vw lad to of done it,but it was in for other work at the time.
  11. March 16 registered vRS diesel 4x4 with 44k, water pump replaced after I had complained a few times about having to top up coolant several times over the last 20k miles or so. No overheating issues and I did have the cambelt tensioner replaced under a recall, so don't know if this had disturbed it.
  12. I've just had a problem with the boot open warning going off most days, which took several visits to fix. Dealer replaced the boot lock, which is a known problem apparently, but problem kept coming back. Eventually they replaced the rear wiper motor as part of it was leaking washer fluid, which was soaking into the boot trim/electrics behind.
  13. Try cleaning the 2 rear jets with a pin first. If that doesn't make any difference, fair chance it's the clip that holds the pipe on to the motor, but you'll have to take the tailgate trim off to get at it.
  14. Based on p/x price Skoda dealers are giving me for a 2016 vRS 4x4 with 40k miles, black pack plus and winter pack - that price looks pretty good !
