Hi All,
I've been looking into this retro fit and managed to pickup the screen (3V0919606D) quite cheaply.
I plugged it in, and I wasn't surprised that it didn't work. Got a version error from my 5F module (3V0035045B).
Now, my questions are these:
Are all 5F module versions starting with 565035xxx suitable for this screen? From what I read on here, I believe it to be so.
Can anyone tell me what the differences are between these modules?
565035044A <-- No DAB. Has phone functionality?
565035044B
565035021B <-- has SIM which I'm interested in - Found in Karoq and Kodiaq so im guessing this is newer.
I know there are people on here who have retro fitted the new shiny screen to older models, any chance you can help me out with which one I need please?
I'll probably need someone to perform the CP coding to the car remotely (I'm in Australia) if anyone can recommend a company who they have used before.
Thank you.

unless you disable the switch permanently, the car doesn't know you have the bike rack on the car. unless there is something attached to the lights plug, the button will work.
you can disable the switch with trailer attached (with VCDS) but youll need a dummy plug to put in the 13 pin socket.

that diff will transform the car, especially on the track.
the key is to let the car drive itself out of turns, it will straighten it self up when you stomp on the throttle. there will be a balance between understeer and the actual direction you want to travel, however my FWD with mechanical diff has no aids, I'm not sure how much interaction the active stability has. I remember on my mk2 vRS, it would reel me in when the car felt like it was about to go sideways and brake that inside wheel a little.
removing all aids via programming will make it a more interesting drive

My mistake, there are 2 options to set, it's now working.
It's pretty poor though, only dips a tiny bit
turn the car ignition on, but don't start the engine.
put mirror switch into L position.
put car into reverse, set mirror position to dipped position.
take car out of reverse and turn off ignition.
I think that's the process to set the dipped position.

Had no problems towing over 1200km last weekend (280HP with stage 1 tune - 420NM and 350HP). Only bad thing is I think due to the shape of the sedan/hatch, the air passes over the Superb and hits the flat front of the Abarth causing some big drag.
Boot had probably 120-150kg of weight in it (too much, next time ill load some in the trailered car) and the trailer and car is around 1300kg.

found the proper adaptation names and got HBA working - got the little high-beam icon with the letter A in the MFD.
Did a test drive and it works well
it does work very well! I notice sometimes during the day if the sun is at the wrong angle into the camera, the HBA turns off with some weird error telling me to clean the windscreen.

thanks for confirming. much appreciated.
i'll try out the coding this weekend - hopefully it works.
with regards to the DRL brightness, is it possible to have the DRLs "dim" when the side-lights are on.currently they only dim when the low beams r switched on.
with my MK2 Octavia RS, the DRLs would dim on sidelights, acting as parkers.
would be nice to have this again when driving in "not bright not dark yet" conditions
let me know how you go with this, AFAIK no aussie model has the whiskers in their headlights...........

I assume zei20t has worked out by now that the icon/button for the rear view camera and trailer is not trailer assist. It's a mode helping you reverse up to a trailer to hitch it up to the car. It's not what you get in say VW.
You'd hope the MQB platform meant it was possible but VW always keeps some technology for itself. Look at the active info display which is not yet available in Skoda or SEAT cars.
I don't mean the camera button, I mean the button for park pilot, the function that parks the car itself. when I press that with my trailer attached, I get the trailer assist wizard, but it completes straight away. I believe there is a missing message, or my camera is not the correct model.

you need to have the trailer attached for parking assist to work. once you are in reverse, hit the PLA button and see what happens.

I haven't tried this, however this is from another forum:

You need PLA, RVC High (and the towbar) to get Trailer Assist.
do you know anyone who can activate this?

you change the throttle response in the 01 Engine module, in long coding.
Where in Australia are you, I might be able to help? if you go on https://www.facebook.com/groups/AuSkoda/ theres plenty of info and questions answered for local models.

I towed for the first time with my MK3 280HP after towing quite a bit with a modified MK2 Octavia RS. Well, I can say the Superb handled it..... superbly. I tow 1300kg (car on trailer). Around town the superb picked up to speed better, I put that down to the additional torque and grip. going up and down inclines (especially up my driveway) the AWD prevented wheel spin just dragged the whole lot up.
On the highway (100km/h) it purred and I overtook other cars no problems, no movement but I found the ride was much better after putting the suspension into Sport mode to firm it up. Less comfy on the long ride, but less bouncy movement coming from the trailer - perhaps I need to move the car back a little for less ball weight?
Anyway, thought id add my 2c. I'm thoroughly happy with the way it towed except for one small point.
I use a electric brake controller as the trailer has electric brakes (I'm in Australia) and the brake lights stay on for around 0.5 a second after taking my foot off the brake. being DSG, its already taking off as I remove my foot from the brake pedal but as the trailer brakes are triggered from the lights, the car attempts to take off while the trailer is still braking. annoying, but I may need to find another trigger for the controller. turning down the braking force helped, but that doesn't help actually stopping it all.

My car just got updated with the Traffic Jam software. It is totally awesome, the lane keeping is a lot more "active" than before, it will provide a lot more guidance if you activate both ACC and Lane Keeping Assist. Nearly to the point of autonomous driving. I drove about 50km of highway driving in peak hour traffic with little or no intervention. Very impressed with the feature.
Once ACC & Lane Keeping Assist is activated. The Lane keeping assist icon should stay green regardless of speed (providing it can detect lanes).I had to talk to Skoda's dealer technician and he had no clue of TJA feature until I pointed it out in the brochure and then he had to call Skoda Australia to find out what is going on.
Then I got a phone call from the dealer's technician the next day and said that Skoda Australia confirmed there's a fault with the current software where TJA is not working. So thats why he asked me to take the car in for a software update and also there's an active recall regarding rear trim that needs fixing.
I will suggest anyone with TJA, if it is not working (i.e. not having green light under 65km/h while ACC is active) to contact their dealer and explain to them.thanks, I may get my dealer to at least have a look to see if its on the latest version. I find mine doesn't take off after coming to a complete stop, I need to tap the throttle or pull the cruise control lever towards me

just added 70hp to my 20hp superb. it still doesn't torque steer and the transfer is fantastic. still understeers. but then again its a boat, and meant to be comfortable.
An LSD in a FWD driven properly can counter understeer and drive the car out of turns quite easily.
-
owning both, id say FWD with mechanical diff is best - at least on the track or when youre already moving. AWD is great for wet weather and low grip conditions and standing starts!

removing the resonator and keeping the back box will increase noise a little. mine didn't drone, and I also had a decat DP with a non-resonated milltek. DSG farts sounded great too!

zei20T - works if you have keyless entry . Don't know if works against standard key. Could give it a try as its syncs to the open/close car signal
cheers, I have kessy. ill try playing with the other key and see what happens.
thanks!

is this only on MY17 models or does the MY16 have it too?

so, after plugging in my trailer. none of the lights (perhaps the whole trailer module) function until the hitch is in place. logical, but had me stumped for a while as this didn't happen on my MK2 Octavia.
In Australia we use one line for brake lights, leaving the other one available. So, after seeing the error for a failed left trailer light, I thought I might use that output from the trailer module to activate the brake controller! it should create enough load to compensate for a lack of trailer light, and give me a steady voltage to activate the trailer brakes.
ill wire up in a few weeks and see what happens.

OK, looks like its on the master cylinder. there is a plug with 4 wires coming out of it. I guess this is the brake pressure switch and hopefully a brake light signal that I can tap into
question is, does anyone know what is what??

Hi Everyone,
I recently purchased a 206TSI Superb (you guys call it a 280PS) and had the factory towbar installed (the removable one) and that's all good.
However, my trailer has electric brakes (are these legal in the UK?) but the controller requires an input from the brake pedal/lights.
As the car has LED tail lights, the PWM LEDs may not be a suitable input. Does anyone know if there is an actual switch attached to the pedal? Should I use the sensor on the master cylinder? or just install my own switch on the brake pedal?
I had the same controller on my 1Z Octavia RS, and being as it had incandescent brake lights, I utilised that for the brake controller.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I know this is a really old post, but you may have saved me the hassle of tapping the wire to the master cylinder.
bought a recarc brake controller for my trailer, need the brake signal
thanks very much!!
