Good afternoon. I've recently purchased a 2018 monte carlo 95ps, I would have preferred the 110 but with low mileage, price and location I ended up buying this one. I'm looking into a few remaps from either Apr or celtic tuning. Has anyone used either product, had an issues ect or can offer any advice before I decide. Thanks in advance.

Good afternoon, I'm an owner of a 2011 vrs, I've recently changed the battery & have noticed I've lost the sound when locking the car (only the Indicators now flash) also the alarm has activated recently with no sound just flashing indicators. I don't have the maxidot feature to change anything. Any ideas on how to fix or remedy the issue? Thanks in advance.

Squealing noise when first pulling away

I had the same noise on my 2011 Vrs . The noise was always from a cold start pulling away . I've had the Aux belt changed , the issue has now been resolved. -
Booked my 2011 vrs octavia in for some warranty work on the A/C . The service desk were quick to make assumptions over the phone after I had given a brief description of issues , within seconds telling me a damaged compressor/ condenser was likely to be from stone chip damage ; NOT covered by warranty and I would be paying ! They also wanted to charge me for a courtesy car. Took my car to Aylesbury in the end. Free courtesy car and friendly staff, more importantly work carried out without a grumble .

Some sat Nav units including Tom Tom have built in Bluetooth , so no need for a parrot kit.

Buy some silicon / moisture absorbent gel packs 10grm packs from amazon, only a few quid ! Put a couple in the boot, couple in the cabin ect .. Does the job for my 2011 Vrs . -
Having only owned my Octavia Vrs for 5 weeks I was very annoyed at having to take it to my local Skoda dealer to have the rear Skoda badge replaced under warrant due to corrosion . I collected my car left in the customer bays, it appeared to be covered on what looked like concrete dust with dirty marks all over the new badge and boot lid , to top a simple job off whatever "skilled" technician carried out the job had now left a dent just below the badge, obviously where they had used a tool to lever it off. I went straight back to the service desk, somone came out to quickly view my car, agreed they had damaged the boot , no apology , not even a sorry. They have agreed pay to rectify the damage ( to be expected) but this is not the point ! Simple job carried out my complete muppets. I will set foot in that Dealership again .

I use evian® Natural Mineral Water. Protected under a fortress of geological layers built up by glaciers 30,000 years ago, it slowly travels through a natural purifying filter. Untouched by man and free from pollution, its microbiological composition is perfectly sound, mixed with a dash of Tesco screen wash !

Small issue with my new vRS
P6uly replied to Blackline Stu's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I'm 1 of those sad sods who parks at the far end of a car park in clear space only to find some tw*t has parked next to me when I return dispite there being millions (slight exageration) of other 'kin parking spaces available closer to the shop. I then make sure they haven't marked my pride and joy too before I drive off with 1 foot in the grave..... +1 -
The question is : Is it cheaper to order the part from your local Skoda dealership OR via Skodparts.internet with the large carriage fee ? I did try emailing a few local dealerships with for a price, but neither replied !

Dsg is great when it works, my last two cars including an Eos and Ibiza FR required endless software updates to operate smoothly and economically . The 7 speed dsg on my SEAT was really noisey at low speed over uneven road surface/ speed bumps ect... Apparently a common issue with dry clutch plates banging together . The 7 speed dsg even improves fuel economy (when running correctly)! As for paddle shifters, pretty pointless! The D mode suites most scenarios.

Thanks for the all the info. I'll order one , keeps the engine grime at bay !

I have just purchased a 2011 petrol Vrs , whilst topping up the screen wash I noticed that there is NO bonnet lining/insulation! I'm new to using forums , so probably haven't searched the topic correctly. Should there be some for of insulation in this particular model, or like most things now is it an another optional extra ?
