Picked up my Fl VRs (petrol) in blue yesterday have to say it was worth the wait is lovely will get some pic's up when i get time.
Just a quick question can i turn off the little beep / chirp that you get when you lock - unlock the car? I have maxi-dot, or is it something i need to find someone with a box of tricks to do?
Also think someone was asking on another thread before, if you could have cornering foglights turned on... well they did it on mine when i asked, and they did the tear drop wipe too all done pre delivery at the deelers (beedles maidstone)

Have waited since 30th october with pretty much no contact from the dealer... so today when i had a message left saying my car turned up with them yesterday i was well happy
Went along, as i was passing to sort out insurance, when to pick it up and ask for tear drop wipe and a few other bits and bobs to be done. Got the reg phoned the free skoda insurance up the bloke was pretty jovial and having a bit of a laugh all the way through.. got to the bit about asking for the Reg gave it to him and he said "yes a Kia Picanto" thought he was still joking so laughed then realised he wasnt!!! 11 / 12 weeks of waiting and i have brought a kia!!! hehe. Back to the dealers and they still say thats the right Reg! left them to sort it out am sure its just an admin thing ..... well hope so dont fancy a Picanto on the drive! (do they do a VRS??? ).... all being well should pick it up (the skoda!) friday hopefully with a new reg!

Ordered mine 30th Oct and am told it "should" be here for the begining of feb, have to say my deeler have been pretty poor with contact and letting me know whats going on, i only find anything out if i take the time to call them or pop in.
just out of interest are there any rules on how long i can "stall" for if it turns up at the begining of feb can i stall it til the 1st March or is there some clause in the contract with the deposit? i have a part ex going in when mine turns up on an agreed price and have paid a deposit if that makes any odds??

10th November 2009: Deposit paid/order sheet filled out, deal made. Fixed trade in price. Est. delivery: December/January.
15th November 2009: Attempt to change order to add full leather
23rd November 2009: Order sucessfully changed to add full leather. Est. delivery: January.
14th January 2010: Got a build date! Week 4.
So, mine will be a week 4 build. Any ideas how from build to handover to customer? I'm hoping it'll pass the end of Febuary so I can get a 10 plate.
If you search back on this thread somewhere there was something put up about that, i think it was about 3 weeks from build date to having the keys in your hand

think its got to be:-
4 x 4 vrs available (or one of the systems thats 2 wheel drive until the going gets tough and it goes into 4 x 4)
side airbags as standard,
keyless entry and start,
Multifunction steering wheel either as standard or as an option with non DSG
My car's non DSG and has a multifunction steering wheel.
meant across the range its daft that you can have multi function on some and not others like the VRS

still little contact from the deeler get hold of them eventually only to miss the call back so answerphone says mine has slipped back about 2weeks, ordered 30th Oct was told 1st or 2nd week in Jan, but now being told last week in Jan or 1st week in Feb, to be honest i'd be happy with that but am going to see if they can let it slip another month and get the new reg (not that i am that fussed really but its worth a go)
Something i dont understand though, is i am told there is no problem at the factory and they are upping or have upped production etc, so how can your car slip back a few weeks here and there? surely if you order, you join the que and your car will be built when it gets to the front of that que? the only reason i can guess for the "slippage" is if they make certain models and then re-tool or whatever to make another run of a different model. but as i understand it my VRS is built in a different factory to some of the other cars?

whats the best wax to use am tempted by one of the colonite waxes but not sure which one to go for? dont mind a bit of elbow greese but will probably only get round to doing the car once a month or so

Hi all,
I am after a good online supplier would preferably want to get everything from the same place and i dont want to break the bank, but would like something that works i want or need something silimlar to the following-
Snow foam
meguiars all purpose cleaner
meguiars wheel brightner
glass cleaner
meguiars last touch
good quality wax
also need a waffle weave towel and some other bits and bobs but i cna always source them elsewhere if needs be but if i can find an all in one supplier that would be good.
Any suggestions on alternative products or different brands would be more than welcome

if its still going it may well be that you just need to get it off the car and replace the rivots that hold it together there was a guide on here once upon a time to do it. did this when i had my Mrk1 vrs amd it worked a treat for the sake of about £5 worth of nuts and bolts and about an hours work... think that was only cos mine was a git to get off

oops just realised you said nearside not offside:dunce:

Not sure if this is what you mean but this is what it says in the FL's manual
dont think the R has come out but thats what its supposed to read when knob is in position R.... :orb_no_no
Tilting surface of front passenger exterior mirror*
When the rotary knob is in position

position and put into another position or if the speed is more than 15 km/h.
says that you can fold the mirrors from the key fob but cant find how you do that?
surface of the mirror tilts down slightly. This provides an aid in seeing the kerb of the
pavement when parking the car.
The mirror returns into its initial position, after the rotary knob is moved out of the -
does anyone have any problems with wear on the arm rest? someone told me that this might be an issue??? or is the cover just cos you can and you want to?

well not forgetting the 0% finance i got maxidot, tank of fuel, the £400 worth of paint, full size wheel and managed to haggle up a bit on the price they gave on my trade in increased it by £500 and to be fair i didnt think it was a bad offer in the first place. at the end of the day you have to walk away feeling YOU are happy with the deal i am more than happy with mine..... well will be when the car turns up as have to wait til jan now

Thanks guys its pretty much as i thought, its a little while til the car turns up but once it does i'll get cleaning with all new stufff:thumbup:

Well after some advice really i pick up the new car in a month or two hopefully and being as most call me a tart i do like a nice clean car. to be honest in the past i have kept the cars i have owned pretty clean and waxed etc but i have been using the same stuff for ages... new car = time for some new bits and bobs to clean it. decided against having something like lifeshine or similar done. i like cleaning my car for the end product so i am wondering what you guys think is essential kit to clean it i pretty much have most of the hardwear really but need to invest in a waffle weave drying cloth and a decent glass cloth (I can never get my windows to be smear free so advice on that would be useful)
So my question is what are the best products to buy i dont want to spend a fortune so am thinking something like snow foam, clay, detailing spray, something for interior plastics etc, leather cleaner, glass cleaner, wheel cleaner, and a good quality wax.
does that sound about right or would someone suggest other bits and bobs that are invaluable or suggestions of which product to buy?
Thanks...

Did i miss it or does anyone know when the computers for the delivery thingy get turned off? how long for? and is the factory still churning cars out while the delivery systems on shut down how long it will take to catch up?
not sure if someone has already posted that but i missed it if they did

ordered my Octy Vrs last friday, have just popped into the dealer as i was on the way past have told me that mine is "pencilled" in for build week the 2nd december. good news but also i am aware that it will be built and then be stuck somewhere over the xmas / new year break! never mind the origonal estimate was end of jan and i am happy with that. For those pondering on another thread i was told i wouldnt pay any more as VAT going up, once i signed that was the price i pay no matter what.
-
just wondering if you know from what build week the change over is going to happen from being TFSI to TSI on a VRS or is it an option? instead of a complete changeover
-
So then the next question is it actually worth it? i mean some big claims from most of the manufacturers. or would i be better off not being so lazy and cleaning and polishing the car more often (probably if i am being fair about once every 6 weeks at the moment for a good polish but once a week or so for a wash) hoping the new car will make me clean it a bit more often i am sure it will! so is that better than going for one of the treatments? must admit the interior treatment probably appeals more than the exteria, as those that seam to confuse me with the family taxi are a little how can we say this .. less caring about if they cake the car in sweet wrappers and mud!

I am in the near future to pick up a new FL VRS the dealer is of course trying to make a buck with offering autoglym lifeshine. i am kind of tempted but dont really know anyone who has ever had this kind of treatment done most i know say its not worth it but have never had anything done with it. i am tempted to get it done but have heard its probably better to get a pro detailer to do it not the dealer.
i know you can get the kits on ebay and the like (lifeshine, diamond brite etc etc) how hard is it to do, i wouldnt say i am the best detailer in the world but dont mind a bit of elbow grease and waxing the car it usually comes up well. the only time i have ever used a paint sealent was a long long time ago and ended up with smears and swirls all over the shop (it was halfords own about 13-14 years ago) what i dont want to do is end up with my nice new car and then being a muppet going and making swirl marks or marking the seats etc (as i am also tempted to do the inside too).
is it easy to do? am i liable to make a mess of it? and ultimatly is it worth it?i like cleaning the car but time wise can probably only wax it once every couple of months the rest of the time its a quick wash

No no xenons just asked when i went in to arrange the pick up date and they sorted it out for me. Knew someone on here was having a palava trying to get it sorted at a deelers so thats why i posted saying it could be done... if its any use beedles obviously know how to do it so maybe a VW/skoda tech from where your trying to get it done could ring one of their tech's.
On the other point i'll try turning the alarm chirp off later thanks ... had seen that on comfort but had no idea what it was so didnt turn it off.
