  1. You should be able to pick one up from your local TPS for around £45 (give or take). Or occasionally you'll see them on the 'items for sale' section on here for a steal of a price!
  2. Yeh that was me! I did wonder if it was you as I met up with Chris last week down at the Unit, but wasn't 100% as I didn't see you roll up in your black Fabia haha! Back to the Coily's though, it'll be nice to see some user feedback on these V-Maxx's once people that have had them fitted have given them a good thrashing! By what Ali was saying though, they do definitely seem a good 'bang for your buck' setup. Just hope they keep performing well in the long term!
  3. The ones being fitted to the Cupra by any chance? Spoke to Ali about these briefly aswell today and that he was pretty impressed with how they performed. I'll definitely be interested in them once funds allow!
  4. Currently with Admiral. 21 yrs old. 0 years NCB (3 years 'named driver' no claims). £860 for there 10 month policy deal which classifies as a full year NCB Having been on a few comparison sites though (just out of interest), I'll be going with Elephant I think when my renewal is due. Want to get a fair few mods done this year when I'm able to delcare them, so did a quote for the car as standard which came in at £599, then another with all the mods I want to acheive this year (remap, coilovers, 312 brakes etc), the quote then came out at a surprising £625!! Seriously makes you wonder why some people out there dont delare anything if they have a clean record...
  5. In that case then, black inserts it will be when I've got a bit spare cash lying around!
  6. You don't happen to know why the black insert projectors are nearly half the cost of the chrome insert ones that WingmirrorWoman sells do you?
  7. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you; however I can't really proceed with any mods until at least August (age and insurance costs being the main reason :( ) Having been lurking around here though for the last few months taking in advice from others, I'm pretty ademant that I'm going down the Coilover route as opposed to lowering springs (adjustability and ride being the main 'pro's' I seem to have gained) and have also picked up on the thought of 'you get what you pay for'! That said, i'll probably be looking at getting some KW V1's come August Regarding fitting though, where abouts are you in Leicestershire? I'm near Market Harborough, and i've already decided that i'll be making the journey over to Ali at Unit 18 (Milton Keynes) mainly due to him being so highly recommended by other users on here!
  8. Actually, I take my last post back slightly. The 215 will be EVER so slightly larger in diameter (by a couple of mm, as the '40' profile is a percentage of the tyre width), but the difference will be extremely small and probably unnoticeable
  9. 205 will be exactly the same as 215 regarding your speedo readings. 215 is just a slightly wider tyre
  10. Some people are also using 215/40/17 tyres on the Octy Spiders on here. They say they offer a little more protection for the alloys themselves as they hang over the rim slightly. It's what I'll be putting on mine as soon as i've worn the rubber down on my standard 16" vRS wheels
  11. I'm using 'Osram Cool Blue Intense' bulbs on both dipped and main beams. Gives everything a 'cleaner' appearence in the dark IMO (if 'cleaner' is the correct word to use....)
  12. One way to test is to sit in the car, lock it whilst your still in there (making sure to only press the lock key ONCE) , and then dance around like a mad man for a few seconds! That should trigger the motion sensors and sound the alarm! By the way, I found the cause to the problem I was having! Bonnet sensor wasn't working properly. Good spray of WD40 on it worked a treat! Indicators now flashing when locking
  13. Sorry to be slightly off topic, but i'm a complete noobie with the whole VCDS-Lite thing... Reading around I see the cables from Ebay are in some cases a complete waste of time, and its best to purchase the proper Ross Tech equipment from somewhere like Genden; however I don't really fancy forking out £260 on just wanting to check if there's a fault code with either the door sensors or alarm. I have seen however a cheap cable from Genden here: http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_VAGUSB.html Anyone had any experience with this cable on an '07 SE Fabia, or know whether or not it will work? Thanks again!
  14. Luckily the alarm hasnt randomly set itself off yet (having set that, I've never heard it go off at all since i've had the car, so may go and test that out to see if it actually works at all!) Just another thought aswell - opened the rear doors this evening and I appear to have the 'water ingress' problem which I've seen from here is quite common on the Furby! Do you reckon that this may have caused a bit of havoc with the electrics perhaps?
  15. Tried single and double pressing, but still no flashing indicators.. I'll see if it manages to fix itself over Xmas, if not i'll get myself a decent dongle and give VCDS a whirl! (Unless someone here is local to Kingsthorpe / Northampton area thats willing to help out... Payment given of course ) Thanks again for all the replys!
  16. Thanks for the replys! Only press the lock key once, and yep the interior lights come on when the doors are opened. Also, no lights on the dash appear when the car is stared to indicate that a door / boot is open, so I assume all the door sensors are working fine...
  17. Hi all! Had my Fabia vRS SE now since Oct this year, and apart from a few little issues at first, I love it! However, going to lock the car last night I realised that the indicators no longer flash when the button's pressed on the key fob... I initially thought I perhaps hadn't closed a door properly, but have gone round all the doors, bonnet and boot to make sure they're firmly shut, but still to no avail. All the doors and boot lock just fine, its just I no longer get the flash from the indicators to confirm. (slightly irritating when I go to check if the cars locked from inside the house) Tried searching around on here for similar problems people have had, but no fix for me unfortunately.. Anyone else had this problem before? Ryan
