  1. Yep, they spent many hours covering everything in silver dust! Still finding odd patches in places even now haha! The only thing they found was a fresh hand print on a DVD case, but haven't heard anything back to say it was linked to the suspects so I'm assuming it belongs to a member of my family
  2. If ever there's a time for cake it's now haha! Had another phone call today from the PC that they had taken another 2 people into custody that had close connections with the first suspect. Unfortunately though they were released on bail as there was no clear evidence or indication that they were involved with any of the burglaries or thefts within these last few weeks. The initial suspect however has been recalled to prison so is currently spending the next 28 days behind bars, during that time of which the police are trying now to get together as much evidence and forensics from all the burglaries he's been involved with to put before the parole board next month! Fingers crossed this will bring the 2 if not more suspects back into the case so they too can be dealt with!
  3. Nice one Jon! Are they the V-maxx's by any chance? Do you still have the adjuster cup in the back because it's sitting really nice! Also good to see another person using the Ultra Racing RARB haha! They are a seriously good but of kit!
  4. Hi Nic Sorry to hear about the incident! Have to say I was in a very similar situation to you last year after a very similar incident! Hit a pot hole on the bike on a descent, flipped over the bars, snapped my clavicle and shattered my shoulder blade! http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/286022-broken-collarbone-surgery-or-not-hmm/ Bones do heal though (well, mine did with the aid of a few pieces of metalwork haha) so wish you the speediest of recoveries! Regarding the bike rack though, I work in a bike shop in Northants, and have fitted many different racks to different cars. I have to say my personal favourite is the Saris Bones rack. Slightly more expensive at £130 (for the two bike version) but so worth it IMO. Extremely light weight so very easy to lift when fitting it to the car, and very customizable as the arms of the rack can be adjusted to suit the contours of the car you're fitting it too. (This is also useful for storage as the rack can be folded down very easily) Also comes with individual bike loading slots which are spaced well apart from one another to prevent damage between bikes and car. It isn't as high as some of the racks you provided links for, but considering the amount I've sold to customers in the last 5 years, I have not had one come back to me with any issues! Hope that helps a little! Rhyan
  5. THE THIEVING SCUMBAGS HAVE BEEN CAUGHT!!!!! Well one of them has anyway! Arrested about 20 minutes ago The suspects DNA was found on a baseball cap that was found in the white Focus they used, and it linked straight to them!
  6. Hopefully this will help a little. The square plug I think you're referring to comes directly from the headlight unit and plugs into the ballast. The D2S lead than comes from the ballast to the bulb. The entire headlight unit is powered through the large plug that is just to the left hand side of the indicator holder. You unplug this when you remove your current headlights. All quite simple really once everything is in front of you! Sorry i'm not posting in the for sale section, but mine are going to be for sale soon (the whole lot inc. ballasts & bulbs etc). Only had them fitted to the car for a couple of weeks before I found myself a set of genuine ones, so these are redundant. Not a scratch or mark on them. Drop me a PM if you're interested
  7. Just another update. Spoke to the detective in charge of the case again this evening, and unfortunately the criminals are still at large. There are at least 4 other burglaries since ours around Northamptonshire that the police believe these particular criminals have been involved with. All of these cases have been similar to mine; house burgled, keys taken, driven to workplace and stolen cars! The police have said though due to the amount of evidence they've received from these last couple of weeks, primarily that found from the car the suspects ditched when they were chased, they're hoping of an arrest soon... how soon though I don't know. Considering the case is live and bits and pieces keep coming through daily I'm hoping sooner rather than later!
  8. Yep, I'm the proud owner of my little SE again!! Might be worth locking this thread, any update on catching the thieving scumbags I'll post in my 'found' thread! Thanks again to all those that kept their eyes peeled!
  9. I went for my 256 upgrade because I found some on eBay with pads and discs far cheaper than it was going to cost me to get discs and pads for my standard brakes. Was a bit of a no brainer IMO
  10. They've been involved in at least 3 thefts within the last week or so, so I can imagine they've committed plenty more! Fingers crossed they'll get a bit more than a slap on the wrist for that if and when they're caught!
  11. No, nothing of ours unfortunately. There were other bit and bobs in the car, DVD player, hand bags etc, most likely from a other burglary. The old bill did tell me that vehicle had also been involved in another burglary Sunday evening, so quite likely they were from that!
  12. Forensics was carried out this afternoon on the Focus, and some nice fresh prints were obtained from both inside the car aswell as behind the number plates when they had put them on how ever long ago. The suspect had also left a drinks bottle in there which had been used, so DNA was taken from the neck of that. Unfortunately though results from those won't be produced for another couple of weeks. They did however find a couple of commemorative coins and ipad case that belonged to myself, so it certainly links them to the burglary The Focus was stolen and belonged to somebody near Milton Keynes, so someone else will be getting a phone call to say their car has been found also Treated mine however to some 256mm rear brakes (found some cheap on Ebay last week before the car was stolen ) so this evening has been spent trying to get rid of the green powder coat that was currently on them and prepping them for some Hammerite smooth red! Has anyone got any tips by the way to remove the old powder coat green from the Octavia calipers, as it's proving to be right pig haha?! Or is it just a case of clean it, sand it, and paint over? Cheers
  13. Thanks again everyone! Just an update.... The ANPR cameras were pinged late last night on Mill Lane in Northampton (The White Focus again). Interceptors were scrambled and car was initially pulled over, but as the officers got out of their cars they sped off again. A pursuit was carried out around the 'Kings Heath Estate' but the suspect eventually ditched the car and ran. Dogs gave chase, but the suspect managed to run over the back of some fields causing the dogs to loose scent.... :( SO CLOSE!!!
  14. Going to be sorting that out ASAP! Already been in contact with my insurance company and Ali at Unit 18, so should have it sorted within the next couple of days
  15. Yep car is back with me! Found in St James in Northampton near the Saints rugby ground in a small tucked away car park. Unfortunately they haven't found the people who took it / burgled my house, but I'll post all info in the Fabia 1 thread as and when I get any
  16. Yes, most likely Toxic! Unfortunately they haven't caught them yet. The number plate (T14...) that was on the white Focus did get pinged on ANPR cameras both last night and this morning near to Northampton, but unfortunately the Police didn't get round to doing their job over the weekend and didn't 'mark' the vehicle as being involved with a crime... If they had it would have flagged up and interceptors would have been called in straight away. Fingers crossed they haven't removed those plates off that car yet and it'll ping again, but I haven't heard anything from the police yet... :/ highly frustrating! Can't have a party just yet! Still got to get back the £8000 worth of equipment they stole from the house first The guy that rang me has asked to remain anonymous as he lives in that area. Understandable really, it's pretty rough! I will be meeting him though to thank him face to face and give him some form of reward
  17. Plus the trip computer had only 20 miles or so more on it than when I left it on Friday, so wherever they'd been, they hadn't been far!
  18. Damage wise though, just a little pull mark left on the leather on the back seats where the brackets to my roof rack were chucked in; other than that, nothing! The car however did have other plates on when we found it. Plates strangely belonging to a white Ford Focus...
  19. Haha! Sorry for the delayed reply everyone. Been with the police for the majority of today sorting out further statements and evidence etc etc. Well basically I received a phone call this morning from somebody who lived around the St James Northampton area saying that he had seen a blue Fabia arrive in this particular hidden away car park late Friday evening. He had also seen them removing some roof bars which he thought was a bit odd for somebody to do on a Friday evening but thought nothing of it. There are also a couple of shops in this particular part of St James, and when the owner came to open up his on Saturday morning, he noticed some roof bars stuffed into a hedge outside the front of the store. He initially thought that were off his car, but after checking realised they weren't, but took them into his shop anyway as it seemed a little odd. It wasn't until yesterday evening that the guy who rang me this morning actually saw my shared Facebook post. He also knew the guy in the shop and they must have spoken about it together. Then the penny must have dropped. He rang the country park where I work at and gave my colleague his number. My colleague contacted me and I gave him a call. He described what he had seen and both me and my dad jumped into the car and immediately headed over there whilst I was on to the phone to the police. We arrived, and there it was!! We sat opposite the car park so as to be in full view of it if the suspects left. Police arrived 5 mins later followed by the recovery truck to take it to forensics
  20. Hi everyone! Just to let you all know that my little Fabia SE has been been found and recovered! Received a phone call from someone this morning stating they'd seen a blue Fabia and someone removing some roof bars a couple of days ago. They'd also seen my shared Facebook post and the penny dropped! Just want to thank everyone that shared my posts and kept their eyes on the lookout! I guess Facebook isn't all that bad after all! Rhyan
  21. I did have the Country Park Ranger where I work give me a call today saying she had seen a white Ford Focus similar to that I posted a photo up of on here the other day. She also said it had a very similar numberplate beginning T14... She was in Weston Favell at the time and she reported it straight away to the police, but I've heard nothing of it yet so not sure if anything will come of it
  22. Hi everyone I've already got a thread going in the Fabia section, but I realise that not everyone visits that part of the forum. I had my pride and joy taken from me whilst I was at work following a burglary earlier on in the day at my home. As well as all the laptops, Ipads, cameras etc they took, the thieves managed to find my spare set of keys, located my pay slips, travelled to my work and took my car :( The Reg is BD07 VWR, so if anyone sees it around please contact the Police immediately. It had projector headlights fitted (black inserts), carbon wrapped grille, the usual Cupra splitter fitted, new vRS style badge fitted to the front, lowered on weitec coilovers and had Thule roof bars fitted at the time of the theft - so it doesn't by any means look standard!
  23. I've already got a thread going in the Fabia section, but I guess not everyone looks there... I'll create another topic now
  24. I wish I'd double read what you said about them being dickheads! Crikey! If some people had brain cells on that page they'd be dangerous!
  25. If you haven't sold within a couple of weeks you might well be receiving a PM from me! My SE was stolen from work yesterday, and from how the theft was carried out I somehow don't think I'll be seeing her again. :( Just can't think of what I would replace her with other than another one at the moment..
