Seat memory not working
I tried the procedure consecutively :- -turn on ignition only -Then move seat ‘base’ forwards all the way -move the seat ‘recline’ forwards as much as it can -move the seat ‘base’ rearwards as much as it can. -move the seat ‘recline’ rearwards as much as you can. (no ping noises at this point) -press Set once then let go. - then press button 1. Immediately afterwards I got the bing noise. I subsequently reset the chair position and presses ‘set’ then button ‘1’ and it binged. I then altered the chair position and pressed 1 to see what happens; I have to keep hold of the desired button whilst it readjusts to the setting for the given number but it does now restore the position I’ve set.

Seat memory not working
Got my Superb yesterday (2018 model) and it too appears to have this issue where I can't get the bongs. After giving up I searched Briskoda and low and behold I'm not the only one. I have VCDS but haven't plugged it in yet to see whats going on. I'll give that calibration sequence a go that folks have mentioned on here to see if it sorts it out and report back.

VCDS start stop disable on 2018 models
Yep this is the thing these days because of the technology to clean up the diesel engine it makes them less suitable for shorter trips. I always prefer them to petrol owing to the instant torque you can't get with a more powerful petrol unit. On my last vehicle I became a bit obsessed with driving extra miles when a DFP regen started as felt it wasn't good to turn off the vehicle when one hadn't completed.

VCDS start stop disable on 2018 models
Yep totally agree to be honest. It’s one of those typical debates that rages on across multiple threads. 🤓 I might end up leaving it at is.

VCDS start stop disable on 2018 models
Yep indeed. It’s just annoying that the car actually activates it while I’m driving… my previous cars just happily stayed in off till the engine was recycled.

VCDS start stop disable on 2018 models
I’ve never liked start stop even on previous cars. Always seemed pointless where is cuts the engine and within a split second it starts back up again. I’m a bit old fashioned and have it in my head that it’s just going to wear out bits of the engine that would otherwise last a lot longer. No matter what manufactures say it does wear parts of your engine out as I’ve see recon engines for cars/vans addressing the wear caused by stop/start. I noticed on this 2018 Superb when I press the button the turn off start/stop it re-enables itself a period of time later.

VCDS start stop disable on 2018 models
I like how they refer to the cable a ‘Super B’. 😊

VCDS start stop disable on 2018 models
Ok cheers for the feedback. I bought a similar cable for another be vehicle I had, worked well. However I prefer it if I can just prevent start/stop from working at all.

VCDS start stop disable on 2018 models
Hi there, I’ve just got hold of a 2018 SE L executive and very impressed. Does anyone know if the 2018 model Superbs are as flexible to tweak with respect to attributes that impact start/stop? I had a newer VW that effectively reset any settings made that would influence how start/stop operated on ignition recycle. I therefore wondered if this had filtered into Skoda models?

Extending warranty - worth it
The dealer is now telling me the car doesn't actually need it's geabox service till 80,000 miles. If Wikipedia is correct it states "Since Model Year 2017, Škoda began equipping the 2.0 Litre 150hp Diesel and Petrol Superb with DQ381 DSG Gearboxes." According to @roottoot, the breakdown you posted, I may be barking up the wrong neck of the woods asking for the DSG oil service. Why on earth they never checked on this before agreeing to do it (which I don't think they have yet).

Extending warranty - worth it
Yep I know what you mean, they are taking the p*** aren't they. I'll have another chat with them to see if they will be prepared to sway that cost. I found out, its not a Skoda warranty, its an RAC one.

Extending warranty - worth it
It's had two oil change services, a pollen filter one and brake fluid looking at the current record. I've asked for some cosmetic repairs to be performed (seat bolster had a small tear) and reluctantly have had to go halfs on a DSG service since the dealer refuse to pay for the full one! I spoke to customer services who reported the DSG oil change should be done free of charge as its a mandatory requirement to meet the warranty conditions.

Extending warranty - worth it
Yes its from a Skoda main dealer, used approved. It's the 150bhp Diesel. I had to push them to do the DSG oil change. Hopefully just being a tad over the 40,000 isn't a big deal. I'll probably continue to get it done every 30k if it doesn't let me down. All other services have been done by Skoda from what I can tell - it's on the flexible service regime.

Extending warranty - worth it
Hi all, I'm about to pickup a 2nd hand 2018 Superb shortly. 41,000miles, one owner and appears to have been well looked after. DSG oil service is due so have asked for that to be done. The car comes with 12month warranty/breakdown (albeit limited warranty with many exclusions!) Having come from an in warranty VW Transporter and 9 months of hell trying to get them to fix anything was all under warranty I do question the value of extending any warranty on any VAG vehicle. Realistically does much go wrong on these Superb's? The things I worry about are the DSG as I'm aware its heavy cost when it gets ill or the radar telemetry electronics for adaptive cruise. Concerningly should it ever go wrong, what's to stop the Skoda dealer spending hours of investigation and pulling the 'wear and tear' argument and then I'm left in their debt to get it sorted anyway.
