  1. Lol , you are obviously incapable of holding a conversation so I will leave you to your chav insults. Later little boy.
  2. Firstly the person you call a tyre monkey is an established garage with over 50 years experience in all motor related repairs with their own mot facilities. So your point there is invalid. I did not go back to the dealer as i did not want to drive the car any further in an unroadworthy condition, and given the dealers consequent comments i am not convinced they would have dealt with it anyway so glad i didn't put me, my wife and child in any more danger.
  3. Greed follows greed !!? How naive you sound. Dealers send out free and discounted vouchers for MOTs all the time, aswell as using them as a sales tool to sell cars in the first place.
  4. Tally with the story so far ? There is no story. Its fact - i bought this car and these are the disks that were on it . Maybe there was neglect by the previous owner or the garage but thats none of my business , when i buy a car which has as part of the deal been inspected then i dont expect to end up risking my life. Isnt that the whole point of buying an Approved used car from an Approved dealer ?
  5. Can i just point out to those who have mentioned it once again that this thread is not about an MOT or what would or would not fail an MOT , its about me having paid 11 thousand pound for a car described as a quality used car with skoda inspection which covers brakes and tyres- therefore I dont expect it to not stop properly or not corner properly , neither do i expect to be treat like a fool by a dealership when i go to them and show them the disks and ask them to sort out what i had paid to have them fixed. Oh and just as an additional one , i checked the oil within a few days of getting the car and it was below min , they hadnt even bothered to do that.
  6. I think i mentioned but new brake pads had been fitted very recently hence there was no scraping , but the fact the pads were flat and the disks pitted resulted in less surface area again , where as pads that wear with the discs trough and groove with them so still keep stopping power.. and it was only a couple of weeks into ownership and not that many journies either - i had noticed the brakes werent as good on slower runs but questioned myself as to wether it was because the car was a 170 and my last yeti was a 110 so thought it was just me and my driving style, that is until i had to use the brakes for real.
  7. The reason I paid good money to go to a dealer who sells approved used cars with a 27 point safety check , was not to check it myself!. MOT aside the car was not properly checked, I also had a car years ago from Slack and it was fine , things have changed and cant say the service was the same this time.
  8. Thank you Rustynuts , that domain has just been purchased
  9. The test drive was fairly short and there was no obvious noise and it was only a week or two into driving it i got to see how bad it was , its a second car too so not driven every day hence it took a little time to realise.
  10. Have actually shown the disks to the dealer and the director , and also Skoda took the case up and the dealer turned Skoda away too , obviously not interested in reputation, Also I put a concise and facutal review on Autotrader ( twice ) and it was taken down , when i rang them they refused to comment on why suffice to say Slack have a big account with Autotrader !! make your own conclusion there Oh and also Derek Slack advised me to go to Trading Standards !
  11. They would be in court and facing charges, luckily for them it didnt , however that wont stop me spending the next two decades putting customers off buying from them , already have stopped two people buying from there , the little bit of goodwill and apology which would have cost them a set of discs and pads will turn into thousands in lost business. I run my own business and understand the importance of word of mouth and especially as Slacks are only a small business in a local area its even more important.
  12. Used Car - Skoda Yeti 2012 CR170 tdi 4x4 purchased from Derek Slack - Feb 2017 , waited till car was inspected valeted etc before pick up and no issue with the sales process everything fine. Couple of days in noticed it wasnt holding the road as well as my last Yeti so took it to my local tyre people who informed me that there was around 2-3mm of tread left , so reluctantly i bought 4 tyres for £240 but rather be safe... Fastforward a week and coming home on the A19 i had occasion to brake hard when someone pulled out on me and found there to be very little in the way of stopping power at speed - narrowly avoided an accident, took the car back to my tyre guy who is also a brake specialist who took a look at the discs and said they were laughable and one of the worst conditions of brakes he had ever seen on a car... these are the discs which i still have as evidence Derek Slack Motors idea of inspected used cars So i had them changed their and then at another £260, and once done i kept the discs and pads and returned to Derek Slack , the service mgr their took a look and want particularly interested and in fact claimed they may have passed an MOT so that was ok. I explained they had sold me an unworthy car and I was giving them the chance to put this right , to which their reply was they were not going to pay for work done by another garage. The work would never have needed to be done had the car been inspected properly which it was not. The car left their premises in an un-roadworthy state and frankly i am appalled at their lack of service and downright denial of any wrong doing since. So Derek Slack thank you for keeping me waiting a week whilst you washed ( not very well ) and valeted ( not very well ) my car , didnt properly inspect it , and let me put myself and my family in danger, obviously i wont be recommending or using you again and its now gone way past the point of just wanting compensation and now requires a full written apology from the director and the service manager. BTW cannot knock the car now its had some basic maintenance done to it , excellent motor and love the Skoda Yeti
  13. Well the chances of affording a masssive repair at the moment are nil so I am going to have to be a bit careful with the old girl, is the flywheel likely to just give up the ghost or is it a gradual thing ? any ideas around the Teesside area who might be good to go for good prices ?
