  1. Hi to all

I have over 90 different cars in my life but never had something like happen today with my Octavia 1.6 tdi, mileage high, yes.

I was on the way to Norwich from London and on half way up I have oil pressure light on, it made a three times beep and 5 times flash and gone till next time.

The car was servicing just a hundred  miles ago, all fresh, right level, right oil etc.

On the way back twice happen like light on+three beep+permanent flushing till I just switch ignition on/off and even did not stop.

Get home run to shopping and its not appear anymore.

    Any idea?

    thanks

If I'm understanding you correctly, are you asking if a car weighing 1050kg can have springs rated at 1020kg on it? If that's correct, then the car's entire weight doesn't have the full weight going through one end unless it's a transformer and does handstand pressups! :) The car's weight is distributed between the two axles, not through one end so you can't measure it like that.

Everyone say the same think, don't put it on. So I contacted Vogtland distributor and drill their brains as well, they found a right application for my car but now the price push me to think, what is best to buy, Eibach or Vogtland

No worries, it looks pretty clear in the advert that they're only fit for 1.4/1.6 litre TSI vehicles

Eibach have the same 1050kg spring for all models, perhaps Vogtland decided they should make two different kits?

If you fit it, it may or may not be liable to breakage, but it's almost certainly been designed for a lighter engine vehicle so you could be undersprung

Might not be much different as a static load, it's beyond my knowledge what happens when things start bouncing around though...

My body weight is 72kg, when i get under the bonnet the car sit only for a few mm down, so logically 30kg difference in engines weight it suppost to be nothing for the springs, Am I right?

The adver clearly shows that springs fit 1.6tdi

I'm looking at the Eibach catalog online and I don't see and option for the Mk II (1Z) Octavia with front axle loading of 1020kg

The only 1020kg set I see is for the Mk I (1U)

What's the exact part number on the box?

I'm half way through fitting my Pro Kit set so the knowledge is fresh in my mind right now :)

My appologize I got Vogtland springs -35mm with 1020kg front but I cant find the information how low the car to be on them.

Eibach got my friend to sell but -30mm on stock shocks seems to be not low enough.

I know, better ride, good quality etc but still not low enough.

  7. That's cleared it up Mike :D . Thanks for the info. I'll keep looking. Interesting to know the estate and hatchback are interchangeable, would never have thought that. Cheers mate.

All seats are the same. Front door cards are the same. Rear door cards are different. Upper plastic trim is longer in estate. Can be sorted by plasic welding job.i done it to my car as enterior comes from hetch to estate.
  8. Problem with leather seats as I found is its hard to find genuine vrs ones, the other leathers normally from l/k or elegance have electric fronts that physically fit but a mare to wire up. What a lot of people do is find a octavia rear then some Audi/vw fronts that are non electric, saying that tho I would always go seats over covers and the Audi s-line front seats are very nice

I bought the VRS black leather seats, cards, middle arm rest from here for £290 collected. The set was for sale for long time and start from 500, thats the real price from FL model. They are heated also but my car has no option to connect it but who care...

If you want to find you are always find...

Seats from VRS are the best. Good luck

  9. Mannyo has covered the main misconception about lowering springs.

Are you still looking at Eibach springs as mentioned in your previous thread? http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/404496-eibach-springs-con/

Have you checked the PR codes and axle weights for your car yet? It'll give you the best chance of actually getting the drop you're looking for rather than just going by engine size.

Where can I find the axle load, ring to the dealer? Was looking everywhere...
  10. if the vRS springs did not lower your car, are you sure your car is not already on sports suspension which was a factory option on the MK2.

if your on sports suspension then you need to subtract about 25mm from the quoted figures because the vRS and cars with Sports suspension are lower than standard by about this amount.

My elegance got standart suspension. I had vrs which sold with lovering springs, elegance was on the ramp with shocks off and I decide to put vrs springs on and got no lower car but firm on bend and no bounce on the bumps....
  11. I read many topics that said the some makes don't lower the car as it should.

Like you buy 50mm and got only 20-25mm down

Can you advise any propa application to lower 1.6tdi manual gearbox please.

On Ebay some descriptions show the springs can lower the car with 1.6tdi, 1.8 and 2.0Vrs models which is lie because 1.6 engine and 2.0 VRS got different max axle load and when I ask the sellers about it they can't explane and don't accept return oncea springs fitted but don't lower the car.....

I have VRS front springs on my car, they didn't lower it on even one mm

    Thanks
