Track names in Maxidot with Columbus

Featured Replies

Finally after 6 long weeks of waiting i got my new Columbus navi today :)

I just pulled out the MFD2 at the parking lot at work and in with the Columbus.

The only problem so far is that the Maxidot only shows Track 1, Track 2...

Should something be coded for tracknames to work ?

I have a VAG-COM 704.1 can i code with that and where ?

Henrik

If its a regular audio CD, then most don't have the track listings on the disk. Try a properly named MP3 disk :)

It is a CD with CD-Text and it shows the name and artist on the Columbus display but not in the Maxidot.

Ah, gotcha.

Is there an option within the maxidot menus?

I just been out checking. It works when i play from HDD or SD card. But not CD. I can live with that.

Another thing: How/where can i check what firmware and map version I have ?

Henrik

The names will be down to the encoding on the CD. Try a selection of CD's and you should see the difference.

But Stu, he said the track names appear on the Trinax, just not on the maxidot...

i think the maxidot display only works with mp3s

I guess it personal preference, but if details are on the coloumbus I would prefer nothing at all on the maxidot....whilst driving I'd prefer not to have to much changing display info in the middle of the dash to distract.....

id prefer to be able to glance down at the maxidot when flicking through tracks rather than at the middle of the centre console
