Electric Window Switches

Featured Replies

Anyone else on here got the electric rear windows on their Fabia?

I noticed yesterday that if I pull the switches up on the drivers door, (especially the rear window switches), the entire unit of 4 switches moves back about 5 or 10mm and the front of it lifts up!

It pushes back down and forward easy enough but it seems that the clips holding it in aren't strong enough.

Has anyone else had the same problem?

I'll probably give it a while in case anything else crops up then see if my dealer can fix it.

sounds like the assembly is broken, it really shouldnt move at all.

The switch panel should lay flush with the door panel even when you use the switches.. See your dealer and have them sort it out! :)

I have electric rear windows on my Fabia, and I have never experienced this while operating any windows from the switches in the drivers door..

Enjoy!

Thanks for the replies.

Didn't know if it was a known issue or just my car.

I guess I'll get it booked in soon. For now it's not too bad as long as I'm fairly gentle with the switches!

I remember my wife's Mondeo company car - new one that appeared in 2000/1 - was one of the first off the production line and had a problem where if you plugged something into the lighter socket in the centre console, and then pulled it out, the whole chunk of trim came with it! Ended up being fixed by Ford by turning the trim through 180 degrees so it was a tighter fit:rolleyes:

Was the worst car we've ever had for problems. Had it 7 months and 12,000 miles. Got through new clutch, flywheel, aircon control unit, aircon fan, front seats had to be taken apart and put back together with extra padding due to a problem with the lumber support, loads of other little things and then when dealers give you the car back with oil stains all over the (beige) seats and don't bother test driving it so when you pick it up after the work has been done, it pops out of 3rd, 4th and 5th gears! It also ate a pair of front tryes in 9000 miles (after the previous Volvo S40 company car made it to 55,000 on it's first set!). Never again will either of us buy a Ford!
