Positive experience with Skoda Assist!!

Featured Replies

On Saturday my Octavia was running pretty rough, intermittantly misfiring, then clearing up, then a few miles later misfiring again, so I took off the air intake and diverter valve with a view to taking it into Skoda for diagnostics on Monday.

Well I went to work on Sunday, and when I went out to the car it was running really rough, so at 4.02 I called Skoda Assist, told them what the problem was, and was told to wait about an hour, and a technician would call when they were 10 mins away. Fair enough.

So went back into work, made a brew, and at 4.10 the phone rang "Hi its (whatever his name was ) from Skoda Assist, I'm parked next to your vehicle sir". 8 minutes response time - impressive stuff!

Went out to the car, and was pleased to see a nice shiny silver VW transporter and was greeted by a very nice guy indeed.

Within 2 minutes he'd plugged in VAS, talked me through what he was doing, told me the fault codes and popped in a brand new coil pack for me, cleared the codes and all was well. Amazing service indeed, and not even any paperwork to sign, just one scribble on a PDA. :)

We had a good natter for about 20mins or so too, really friendly guy!

The coilpack was really quite wet with condensation. He suggested that you could probably dry it off and it would be fine, but he put another one in for good measure. Its just a bit of a design problem really with the engine frequently going from cold to hot back to cold etc... Ho hum.

So, a big  for Skoda Assist!! :):):)

Good to hear mate, thats the way it should be.

Now thats what i call service, just wish corgi gas fitters were just as keen.:D.Glad its sorted tom.

Interestingly VWs only come with 1 year breakdown cover where as Skodas come with 3 years......

What a result.Thats quality for you:thumbup:

Excellent indeed  - just hope I need never avail myself of the service.

But good to know.

Quality service indeed, but I can top it for turn-out time.

I had a recovery operator arrive to recover my car before I'd concluded my call to Britannia. No joke; just a happy co-incidence that he came in to fill up after his last job, whilst I was on the line.

And as just a precaution you put it back to standard

No it was an excuse to take the intake etc off as really it was too noisy for him.
