German style number plate surrounds

Featured Replies

Thinking of buying a pair of these: German Number Plates and License Plates

Thing is, there's a slight curve to the front number plate mount (std post-facelift bumper, not VRS) and, as the surrounds hinge along the top and bottom edges, I am worried it might be enough to stop the frame opening up to fit the plates in.

Has anybody fitted this type of surround to the front of their Furby and do they work ok?

I've got the Chec style numberplate surrounds, probably the same size, the back fits perfect and its a 30second job to fit.

Front is slightly larger than the recess in the plastic bumper. I found the bottom lip of the numberplate surround stuck out slightly but it doesn't look bad in any way, actually adds a slightly meaner look to the front shape IMO.

Goes well with a front splitter.

IIRC the dubmeister ones seem to fit perfectly in the front recess. the Mlada ones do look cool though

I prefer my rare original Wolfsburg ones, with raised lettering  - a nice 'old school' touch IMO.

And on the fitment question, they go on fine. I prefer to use them in fact, rather than screwing the plate in directly, or using adhesive pads (which have fallen off on me before).

See image the image attached in this post, which might help.

Are the surrounds from dubmeister £10 for the pair?

Have you tried asking Dubmeister?
