Where are the other fuses?

Recommended Posts

'03 1.4 petrol. The manual (page 162-164) refers to the fuse panel beside the drivers door with fuses 1 to 44. Fair enough, easy to find and open etc. But what about fuses 45-59? Where are they?

I'm interested in fuse 57 in particular. Called "Radin" in the manual but I presume they mean "Radio"?

The Radio / CD player in my mother in law's car stopped working altogether...

All help appreciated!

Is yours an Octavia?

There are some other fuses on top of the battery but i doubt there any for the radio there.Other than that its the main fuse box like you described.I don,t think there are any others but iam not sure.

Hi,

I've got a '52 plate Octavia, so probably the same. I don't have the handbook with me, but from memory the fuse numbers are mixed up. I think it starts repeating itself on the next page, or something, with the same names but different numbers.

It was all so confusing I typed up my own copy without the errors, and keep that in the glovebox instead.

On my copy, I've got "Radin" (I'm also guessing that's radio!) as fuse 42, and with a rating of 25 amps.

By my reckoning, 42 is the 3rd from bottom in the left hand column (ie bottom left is 44 and they're numbered going down the columns).

It was all REALLY confusing though, so I could be wrong.

Spot on. That's consistent with:

Printed and inserted into the owners manual!

It was the fuse. Just replaced it and the radio is working again. Mother in law is fierce impressed :D

Thanks a lot for all your help!

And I was wrong about the 25 amp rating. I had a look in my fuse box, and it is a 15 amp fuse as kenny's link said.

I hadn't noticed before that some of the entries in the handbook with the right fuse number (42) have the wrong rating (25A). The duplicate entry with the wrong number (57) has the right rating (15A)! I think they could have proof-read the handbook a little more carefully!!

Yes, it's 15 amp

I think they could have proof-read the handbook a little more carefully!!

Understatement of the month :D

Apart from the fuse schema ****-up, it's full of typos and the index points to the wrong pages. And that's my conclusion after reading only about 2 pages...
