Favorit Gear Linkage overhaul - those selector joint bush pins

Featured Replies

In preparing to overhaul my gear linkage so I purchased the appropriate pins from dealer. The pin is pictured below alongside the bolt intended for bottom of the gear stick. I was just wondering a few things...

I assume on the old ones I can grind the ends off with a small multi-tool to get them out?

On the new pins, insert and firmly hammer the ends till it bends out into place?

- or would it be better to replace with either an M10 x 60 hexagon bolt - or maybe the same type of bolt used at the bottom of the gear stick (may be too long) and a nyloc nut?

Thanks in advance...
