Rear ARB???

Featured Replies

Im after a rear ARB for my octavia, as ive been told they make a hell of a difference with the handling, anyway, ive had a look round but cant find much, i saw one on ebay a while back for £40, any ideas where i can get a second hand one, as i dont really want to spend £150+ on a new one as i cant justify it that much :(

Thanks

Have you put a post in the wanted section ?

You never know your luck.

Cant recall seeing any for sale though.

Maybe have to bite the bullet and go for new.

Hi

When i had my octy mk1 vrs i got a whiteline adj arb from balance motorsport it was only about £130.00 good piece of kit.

I looked for a long time on ebay and the forum but they dont often come up for sale .

Take the plunge you wont regret it .

Regards Whoosh:thumbup:

There was a whiteline arb on the for sale section the other day, but i bought it!:D However, I would've paid the full price for a brand new one if this one hadn't come up. Fitted it on wednesday night and was so surprised at the difference it has made, I highly recommend it!

Rub it in for the poor chap why dont you :D

Was it a difficult job?

I'm a 2 haynes spanner kind of guy on a good day and would be tempted if I could fit it myself.

Its a 1 spanner job mate it really is that easy

Excellent news, looks like I'll be saving up my pocket money then :P

Good lad just dont get caught out with new sweeties

Daft question but do they really make tht much diference over the standard set up??

What effect does it have?

Cheers

Reduces understeer, flatter faster cornering and lift off oversteer if you set it on hardest setting :D Overall a much better drive

Cool,

Ta for that

I'm finding I get quite a bit of bodyroll around corners, alot more than in the 205.

It feels crap when pushing it hard around the corners.

Would the rear arb stiffen the roll that much?

What about front strut brace? I'm sure I read this is counter productive if you have the rear arb too.

surley more body roll is to be expected in such a big car?i have just sold my 205 to get the octavia and i was quite surprised by its handling, it will never be a go-cart like the pug!! although i will be going for the whiteline jobbie as i have a dealer near me and he reckons it will be the best money ill spend on it,

Handling improves no end and yes it does make the much difference

ehtos - yes a rear arb would help that alot

Cool, I think I'll save my pennies :)

Thanks for the input!

Most people seem to have fitted these to vrs's would they make much difference to a diesel?

yup exact same principal its just that the vrs normally goes into corners faster :D

Ive fitted a jabba rarb to the fabia and the difference that made was very noticeable.

Am I right in thinking fitting a rear arb to my Octi vrs will be similar?

I'm not impressed with the handling and would like to do a subtle mod that will make a difference.

Is it really that easy to fit?

I'm sure I already know the answer.
