running fine, then not...

Featured Replies

ok. say im drivin my octy, everything seems fin, full power etc... then say if i slow at a junction or anything and begin to accelerate again, its as if its gone into limp mode... no turbo just like a normal 1.8 engine. turn the car off then back on its back to normal. then a while later, same problem.

ive recently replaced the MAF myself thinkin this may be the problem. but the problem is still here..

im wondering is it the map? i know the guy i bought it off had it remapped and he said that the remap doesnt always run right. sometimes its runnin at the power of the map and sometimes it isnt.

would a re remap do the trick?

It could be the 17705 fault.

Fault codes would need to be read really.

When its doing what you say its best to get the fault codes read with VAGCOM and could also be the N75.Good luck:thumbup:

What map is on the car?

Do you have access to Vag-Com to check for any fault codes?

noob i know

It's a diagnostic tool used to check for error codes and a few other good things

Have a look at the members map to see if there is anyone local to you?

vrsphil is... but ill have to look around for it really then

the only problem is that it came through clear from skoda garage itself couple of weeks ago after they replaced all the turbo hoses etc... just said it was a bit lumpy (due to remap) but they didnt report anything like this... would a normal garage such as VW or skoda b able to veg com it?

Yes but not for free ;)

ok, so i took it to a garage (my mates) and he had a diagnostic computer. so we messed about. 2 codes came up so we cleared them and it ran fine for when we tested it.... until of course sods law kicked in and it happened on my way home.... basically when i was at home. so ****in annoyin!

Do you know what the codes were?

one was somethin to do with brake pedal... the other somethin about a leak between throttle and turbo (check D.v)

and then somethin else wuth aircon but ill look at that clsoer another time

As i posted in 2nd post

17705 - Pressure Drop betw. Turbo and Throttle Valve

common fault.

what needs to be done to resolve this?

ha ha, thats a good question. You need to start searching - "17705".

I would check for any boost leaks on all your pipework.

Common one is just under the dipstick, feel for any air and split pipes.

Lol this is exactly what my brothers is doing! Go for the modified boost pipe, throttle body clean and adapt, hoses under inlet manifold to start. (I've done all that still got it!) I'm gonna try an N249 (controls the DV) and throttle body this weekend. Thats the last resort according to the bulletin!
