xr2 suspension myth ???

Featured Replies

Hi, I've been trawling the site for a while to get ideas for my 1.6 felicia, hp sporting coilovers seem on the cards as lowering springs just wouldn't be enough for my plans for real handling, not just about looking good. I was wondering though if there is any truth in the rumour that xr2 front struts fit the felicia...lots of people said they were going to check it out but I never found any results. Also are HP really the only options, how about GAZ dampers?regards.Matt.

there is some truth in the fact that mk3/4 escort shocks fit a felicia, but they need to be adapted slightly

yes and no, i've decided for now to just go with the standard exhaust system with a cat bypass, i'm re-using the centre section, and have purchased a new rear section which cost £24 from my local motor factors

I don't know for sure, but it's possible. I've "solved" problems like this by talking nicely to the techie folks at Spax, so maybe try phoning a damper manufacturer?

I thought that Felicia suspension was Polo anyway?

Oh dear

The Felicia is based on the Skoda Favorit - at most the components it shares with the Polo are the engine (if not 1.3), steering wheel, and some buttons on the dash. Favorit suspension will fit on a Felicia, but Polo suspension is very very unlikely to fit.

HP are good if you want hanling, if you can get the race vertion then thats the best your ever gunna get.

HP know more about the felicia and it handling than any other company, thay have had years of feedback from lots of racing teams.
