Driving in Europe

Featured Replies

I've heard a few things about having to be 21 and over, or having 3 years driving experience to drive abroad (in this case Europe)

I've had a quick look on the webz and I can't find anything to back this up.

Does anyone know if it's true?

Not heard that one before... but falling into both of those categories i didn't have a problem on my very recent drive to Germany.

I would have thought that would have more to do with your insurance than actually being allowed to drive abroad!

no you dont have to be 21 you just need the correct insurance and comply with there road regulations

Ah right I thought that's all it would be, but I thought I'd ask anyway :D

Cheers!

However, many insurance firms may insist you're over 21 and/or 3yrs experience to lower their risk on insuring you.

Providing you are alert and dont drive like a twonk, driving abroad is pretty easy. If you drive in london a lot, you'll do it with your eyes closed!
