Heres a nice summary for you though

Dump valve not needed on a tdi, no throttle so no negatice boost to get rid of.

Some people buy them for the sound, not my cup of tea and you may loose boost through one and hence performance.

IMHO its not worth it

The cheap ebay ones are rubbish, don't work right. We do them for all TDi's but we don't do too many on skoda's.

That has got to be one of the worst noises I have ever heard. It sounds like a petrol 4 pot running on 2.5 cylinders over laid with the sound of a monkey going bananas! Why would you want that noise on your car!

Does it sound worse than a smart car, they sound like they're sneezing. Tiny engine and tiny turbo = stupid noise. Someone near my work has one and it makes me laugh every time I hear it.
