Not sure what's happening, as it doesn't happen every time.

I've got a 1.9td glx on a W plate with 130K on the clock. Recently when starting from cold the engine will run for 1 - 2 seconds then stall. It will restart and then runs normally. It's been serviced within the last 5000 miles.

The only other fault with the car (and one I've had since I bought it two years ago) is an intermittent fault on the temp gauge.

Any thoughts?

Either the glow plugs are totally sh@99ed, or the temperature sensor is lying to the ECU and stopping it selecting a correct cold start mode.
