Dam it Dam it Dam it Dam it !!!!

Was getting a bit carried away with a jet washer the other day and managed to catch the edge of a stonechip at very high pressure.

End result is I manage to flake of a load of laquer on the passenger side wing. I've got a feeling with it being the laquer thats peeling, I'm going to need a full wing respray.

So...... does anyone know a GOOD bodyshop in and around the York area ?

The car was bleeding pristine before this. :bigcry::bigcry::bigcry::bigcry::bigcry::bigcry:

Is clear lacquer not available by itself - I would have thought so.

Just had a look at me little halfords Skoda Silver 3 pen touch up kit and it has grey primer, Skoda Silver, and clear lacquer.

I've heard that getting the blend from a spray can is near impossible ?

FR Pulleyn Bodyshop in Wigginton would be my suggestion.

Have you used them before ?

I reckon they'll be able to flat back and relacquer.

Spray it into the cap and then touch up with fine brush.

You should be able to get it pretty much right.

In any case the job should come out good enough that only you will know.

te he he

Get some 2000 wet and dry on it first and then touch it in with lacquer would be my method of attack

Size of that your never going to be able to touch it in. I would have thoght a smart repair/ chips away would be able to sort it.

I have always used Autobody shop on malton road between wilcomotorsave and the vauxhall garage. Done a very good job for me on more than one occasion, ask for rob, they only charge £25 an hour labour aswell. If not why not take it up to skoda

Cheers chris..... thats what I'm after

I recently had my Toyota repaired after a little "incident". Toyota in York use the BMW bodyshop and the results were A1. I'm a picky sod when it comes to bodywork and I'm yet to find any fault with this at all.

Hope you get it sorted soon!

Sorry to see this mate but I am sure you can get it sorted............

Danny you plonker! Hope you get it sorted..

Yup, being a SMART Repairer myself, thats a straight forward repair, would cost you in the region of £80 and would take 3-4hrs to do

:)

TBH I'd flat the edges with some W&D about 4000 grit then just touch it up with clear coat.

Couple of layers and then a very fine going at with W&D again then a polish with something like Farcela total or 3M extra fine should see it good :)

yes you have been a silly boy

good job you did not do it to my citroen at the same time.

the cheapest place i know is dad's paint shop on a good dry day and after all your bits and pieces are out of the garage so i can get into it.

LOL, when did you join briskoda Dad ?

FR Pulleyn Bodyshop in Wigginton would be my suggestion.

You recommended them to my when my mother in law damaged her front bumper, they did a tip top job and was cheaper than their quote.
