G12 or G12+ engine coolant

Featured Replies

My fabia has G12 (pink stuff) in the engine coolant. Recently, the water level is below the MIN level. I am thinking to add more of that in, but the dealer only have the new purple G12+. I don't want to mix them up. Shall I add some of G12 + in or just add some deionized water for now?

I bought a bottle of deionized water from wilkinson. On the bottle, it said it's for battery and iron, is that safe to use for engine coolant?

Many thanks!

G12+ - corrosion preventative. The purple stuff, when diluted appropriately turns pink.

You cant get G12 anymore, but itself and G12+ are interchangeable.

As are G11 and G12+

But G12 and G11 aint

Ok? ;)

And de ionized water is the shizzle for cooling systems.

de-ionized water I was looking at that the other day but it didnt say anything about cooling systems just battery terminals

its good to use then?

From what I understand yes. I guess as its got no crud in it like tap water does, stops the internal parts or the cooling system corroding up much the same as it does your kettle etc.

Calgon for your engine ;)
