Monaco GP costs?

Featured Replies

Due to me insisting on watching F1 when it's on the box the wife is getting more and more into it and even fills me in on what happens when i fall asleep:eek:.

After last weeks race we were discussing maybe about going for my 40 (in a few years time :P) as a present for me.

I mentioned a figure of around £3k  which she said 'choose something else':(.

Has anyone any real figures of what it will cost?

Anyone been?

Monaco's a bad choice; expensive place and very telly-genic track.

Try Spa; I think you can actually do it by coach for less than raceday tickets for Silverstone!

A client who I obviously cannot name, booked the best of the best out there for 12 people, gold packages for the F1 - the whole deal. The bill?

£60,000! :D

And since coming back, I found out that for the 12 people that went, the CHEAPEST evening meal they had whilst there was £3,000!

One of the lads at work went to this years Monaco GP..... He said it came to approx £900 for the 2 tickets for where they were sat. That's without anything else included though.

Cheers

Dave.

Good vibe but obviously you dont see a great deal of the race.

I'd suggest that Valencia will be a good track to visit.

Being a city circuit you'll be able to get close to the action , but it will be a bit more spacious than Monaco so you'll see more of what's going on. More importantly it will be a fraction of the cost so you'll be able to enjoy more of what's available

Mate is really into his F1.

He went to spain and Monza for full weekends at 4-5* hotels, and pit view grandstand seats for less than Silverstone!

Monaco would be nice, but you wouldnt see much action. Been F1 paddock at Abbey, and you dont get to see what a car is properly. But then again, its more about the sounds, smells and atmostphere ;)

Have done Monaco 3 times. all about 15-20 yrs ago.

Went on an overnight coach, arrived watched the race from sitting on the hill below the palace FOC no need to buy ticket, then back on coach overnight back to uk all in about £100,

Would do it again great laugh but yery tirering about 36hrs on a coach.

Best thing is the atmosphere sitting on the bank, having a few beers and eating french stick with a bit of cheese.

I would love to go to Monaco - but would have to do it "properly".

I've promised it to myself as a retirement present - got to do something with the pension lump sum.

I should of course point out that this is even further off than jaymd's 40th!

I did Silverstone a couple of years ago and loved it (camped for 4 nights) but as others have said its probably cheaper to do some of the other European GPs if you are on a budget.

me and the wife went to the monaco GP back in '05 as part of a south france/switzerland/italy two week camping trip. we got tickets for a standing area which is on the road above Rascasse corner (Secteur Rocher it was called if memory serves) from there you can see the cars exit the tunnel and pretty much all the way along the harbour to Rascasse. you can also see a good section of the pits. i seem to remember it was about £90 for two tickets. we camped in a village called Vence and drove to the train station in Cagnes Sur Mer then trained into Monaco. Getting into Monaco was easy, getting out after the race was a nightmare with everyone heading to the trains at the same time. we still had a cracking time tho' and would definitely do the same again if i was still in the UK.

some pictures taken from the viewpoint with a 500mm lens, yes you may need some bino's but the atmosphere was awesome..!
