Clicking noise when braking.

Featured Replies

Hi people in Skoda land: I have an Octavia 2 and there's a clicking noise from front when braking. (Sometimes hear it when turning too). Have had it back to dealer I got it from and he said it was a loose/broken clip that holds pads on? He said he would order one and put it on for me. He worked at it for 2 hrs, came back and said it was movement between pads and caliper or piston head (unsure exactly). It's not affecting the braking performance just a bit annoying that's all. Any ideas how to fix it or should I leave it if it's not dangerous!

Its very common and down to the nature of the FSIII type calipers. Get it a lot on the Golf V. Assuming its when your parking up etc, low speed turning etc and quite often first thing after being parked up.

Is it dangerous or not worth pursuing?

Its not dangerous and nothing you can do about it anyway, nature of the beast.
