Rear tracking?

Featured Replies

Had a puncture repair carried out today, tyre fitter noted that the rear tyres were starting to wear on the outside. Mentioned to him that i had a new rear arb fitted about 2 months ago and had taken the car to a local tyre dealer (near newport) to have the tracking checked. He thought that the rear tracking could not be adjusted on this type of car, that being said the car does not seem to handle any better since they have done the tracking it handled a lot better in the week leading up to the tracking being done after the arb had been fitted.(also had a r32 front arb fitted a the same time). So i guess the question is can the rear tracking be adjusted or not or have the local tyre dealer charged me and messed up the rear geometry of the car?

I thought there was no rear adjustment on the mk1 octy ???

I'm sure it was you who told me that Ross ????

Feck, I could have sworn this was the Octavia 2 section when i looked before.

I am 32 next week, getting old now. Lucky I have had my dinner so i'm ready for some humble pie.

Your quite right, the Octavia 1 is not adjustable.

I'll let you off old man:)

You can actually equalise it if the toe is off to the o/s/ or n/s on both readings

Phil

You mean, given the assumption (for clarity, not a suggestion that this is the actual setting) that the setting should be parallel (0 deg), that the OS has 1 deg toe-out, and the NS has 1deg toe-in for example?
