When trying to switch user I click the icon, the screen goes blank and nothing happens until I start randomly pressing keys, them my account comes back up, so I click the icon again, them the cursor appears, freezes, random key presses again then up come the two user buttons I click the second one and hey presto we are in. All in all a pain in the ***.

Anyone heard of/had this, any fixes??????

Had the very same problem in XP. Was down to Avast. Although it was random and would not happen evertime. Took Avast off and all was ok.

I have no virus software running at all

I've been goggling and it I think it something to do with stopping UAC at boot as opposed to manually switching it off.
