What derv

Featured Replies

Been having a think and i might need to replace the octy with a derv towards the end of the year:weeping:

Daily drive is potentially going from 14 to 80ish miles so a derv will make sence sadly.

Been looking at a Furby vRS as they are only a couple of grand more than an Octy vRS so shouldnt cost me too much. Octy TDI's the 130 seams to be a rare breed at the moment as ive hardly found any.

Did look at some Superbs though and you seam to get more for your money but is there anything else i should look at on a just in case as i would be gutted to loose my vRS :(

Have you looked at the Seat Leon TDI's, Altea if you have kids or shock and horror the 1.6 TDCI focus for fuel economy?

Not looked at anything apart from Skuds at the moment due to me loving drive "one of them things" :D

Hhmmmmm a focus though..... it wont be that bad i dont think

 Ford !!!

Superb pd130 is very nice to drive and not as slow as some think.....they do chip very well to 170bhp if needed and will do about 50mpg on a long run, loads of room but if you can get one built after 05 as the back seats will fold down (check to make sure as not all 05s were like this)....down side.......handling is not brilliant but can be made better......treat it for what it is and it makes a very relaxed distance eater with lots of extras Classic model has nearly the same goodies as an elegance octy

Only thing that made me even notice the Superb is that its a proper size car like the Octy and i plan on keeping it a good while if i do have to swap it

I wish I still had my Superb to be honest, the amount of room inside can't really be appreciated until you drive one for a while (best laugh was the kids couldn't pass stuff from the back seat to the front as they couldn't reach ....I really enjoyed it and will be getting a newish one next year

Hhmmm might pop over to Bickertons then on one of days off for a look

The MK II Focus is surprisingly well built and very frugal with the 1.6 TDCI.

Once you're used to it, you can then trade up to an RS if fuel prices come down. The focus does handle really well as stock.

Yes but it is a very sluggish car though with the 1.6. Go for a Octy 2.0 TDI or the Supurb.

Which is why my relatives one left quite a few cars for dead on the way up to silverstone and was more than happy getting to and cruising at speed

In the words of a big P company, "power is nothing without control".

As for a 2.0 TDI superb, it's a barge not a handling car, it's fuel economy will be much poorer than a smaller car and that lovely DPF issue that doesn't exist is there too ;)

There are still quite a few pd130 superbs about .....they can be made to handle and I certainly wouldn't have called mine slow but it still did 50mpg on a long run and around 40 mpg locally.

It can be made to move very quickly and you soon get used to the handling

I know I have put it up before but some people haven't seen it
