breather pipe removal? 1.6 felly

Featured Replies

Hi, I noticed today that my breather pipe is split and generally feels old and soft so needs replacing, the problem is I can't initially see how it comes off and don't want to break anything.at the top it clearly just pushes onto, and therefore pulls off the air intake pipe, but at the other end it seems to swell and has a sort of small connector (or is this an inline filter / canister?) and seems fairly well attached, with possibly 2 lift tabs..any idea if this is correct, and what I need to do to remove this part? As I'm hoping it's a big cause of my rough tickover and intermittent smokey running.many thanks.

yeah, just prize the two tabs open and yank it off... they can be very tight tho so it might take some elbow grease to get it off, iirc there is an 0-ring in there too which you should replace at the same time

Thanks for the info, I clearly haven't yet mastered the VAG level of violence in my technique.

Oh violence is the key ;)
