Diesel induction?

Featured Replies

does any of you guys have an induction kit on ur turbo denzals?

lol my mrs is def gettin the car bug after a brief! BRIEF ! once only go in my octy,

she has added to her want list an induction kit for me to obtain for her lol

but ive had a few people say nooo dont as it makes it sound really rattley? and the diesel engine noise is alot louder?

so id thought id ask the guys who dont drive performance petrol turbos lol maybe it wont be so bias :orb_lolly

Best off with a panel filter and a PD160 intake. That way, the air intake isn't sucking in hot air from the engine bay. Or you could get a BMC CDA for a large chunk of cash....

If its power she wants, not a huge point just getting a panel filter and pd160 intake. Does help engine breath, but not much good without a remap.

its the intake noise on my octy she likes but im not sure what u get on a denzal with a induction kit? power isnt really a issue for her lol that will be my pocket that supports the remap lol:orb_cool_

the daddy in this area is actually the bmc cda induction kit,but its not cheap, and as far as i can see(looking at mine and jasons side by side)i can't see how it would fit properly unless the battery is re located, but this system when fitted is far superior to the pd160 and panel filter set up most including me run,and runs a slight induction noise to boot:D

has no-one went for a normal induction? just curious on the rumours of loud denzal noise? but its all petrol turbo drivers who said that?

Panel filter is the best option.

Induction kits suck too much hot air in causing high heat soak. Petrols can benefit more at the top end of the rev-range, but not so much with diesels :thumbdwn:

Open cone induction kits are useless on turbo cars.

Open cone induction kits are useless on turbo cars.

On a FWD car with the cone trapped in the engine bay, I agree. Box it in or otherwise separate it from the underbonnet heat and it's another story.

Very difficult on the Fabia though due to two things

1) Lack of space

2) The fact the air box sits behind the battery, making it difficult to get a decent cold air feed to it

i've got an inter cooler on fabia vrs engine beefier but no rattle hope this helps.
