Repairs update & now front washers have gone wonky !

Featured Replies

I thought the long running (well as long as I've had the car!) list of things unfixed saga...was coming to an end, but alas it seems I was rather too optimistic !

My Vrs spent another 4 days in the dealer last week, whilst I ran about in what must have been the grubbiest courtesty car I've ever had.

To briefly recap - I was looking for them to finally fix the misting problem that has plagued the car since I bought it (now 7 months ago)...they'd had several 'attempts' previously - this time two new 'stepper motors' were fitted so I hope they do the trick. In addition they seem to have solved the noisy suspension problem they entered NFF against at the 'service'. The loose door trim has also been sorted this time along with the non cancelling indicators - two more items that had NFF written against them last time. They also replaced the windscreen that had gone milky along the bottom, albeit after some negotiation. The rumbling/vib i am getting on moving off, is apparently a 'feature' of this model...Mmmm, we'll see.

I finally got the car back, last thing on Friday, after having to call them 4 times ( as they seemed adverse to calling me back, despite promising to do so !!! ) for updates...I think if I hadn't chased it could have sat there until this week to be honest !

Anyway, my delight at the 'troubleshooters' intervention had finally brought some success was tempered somewhat today, when I went to clear my lovely new front screen of bugs...and nothing....but a wee dribble of water. Ok I thought I've obviously used all that expensive screenwash they invoiced me for at the service & I need to top up...but no, it just seems to be ****ing out behind the front drivers side wheel.

Apologies if this is a basic question, but presumably they have dislodged/broken something when they have been doing some of this work...maybe the windscreen?? Is there anything else I can check myself before having to go back to them again...??

Probably just knocked off the pipe from the washer bottle/pump.

Not sure where the access is but maybe behind the wheel arch liner.... maybe unscrew and get a hand up and have a feel around? (oooerrrr)

Well they fixed it...no apology for the inconvenience, no explaination, other than, "oh It probably wasn't reconnected" (no **** sherlock !!!)...& I had to take it in again, and leave it !!!

Here's hoping that's my last visit there for a while...on the plus side, the car is running much better.

Had to laugh when i saw the article in a recent Auto Express about the delaminating windscreens...makes the "oh we've never heard of that" line I got from them hilarous !!
