Anyone running a universal FMIC?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am looking at getting a FMIC toward the end of the year but cannot afford to go for the ones available on here. I like the design of the ABD FMIC, it fits under the crash bar, has a single pass design and looks gooood.

I have had a measure up and the FMIC needs to be a max size of 24"x7"x2.5" not including end flanges. The closest i have found is the THS type 1.

Does anyone else know of any others as i think this is still too big?

P.s I've joined the green gang ;)

It may be cheaper to go down this route but it won't be a straight bolt on job.

1st you have to look at the mounting of the FMIC,i presume you want to mount it under you crash/support bar.

Will it fit underneath and how much cutting of the bumper will be involved?

You will have to sort all the pipework out and that could cost up to £200 on bends etc..make sure you have a place for the MAP sensor as well.

It won't be a quick job and will probably take a couple of days.

Yep under crash bar, Needs to be 7" deep and should bolt onto crash bar. I believe forge do an in line map sensor holder. Universal type pipe work is quite cheap.

Its just finding a cooler with the right dimensions thats a tough one. I have contacted THS about the sizes so will wait and see. There are quite a few Ibizas running this cooler with good results.
