Why is the cost of road tax more for the Fabia vRS if it was registered between Sept 1st 2004 and Jan 1st 2007??

Sorry, hadn't seen any on my travels through the threads. :o

Cheers.

People are very slow on the uptake about how Labour intend to screw the majority of the drivers in this country.

There will be a very angry UK if they don't knock it on the head very very soon rather than wait till next year when it all comes in.

I was going to suggest the change from the ASZ to the BLT engine, but that didn't come in until much later. I'm glad it was worth waiting for my 54-plate facelift model (not!)

I haven't even got the facelift model, even though mines a 54 plate!! I bought it and then was told, as i was picking it up, that they were giving it a little facelift. :( Wish i'd known, i'd have waited a few months to get the facelifted one but never mind.

It almost seems like they know when the majority of them were registered, so they've decided to target those and not the others.

Mine was registered mid-Sept, so is probably one of the earliest facelift vRS models around. But then I only knew to ask the dealer for a facelift one because of this place! ;):D

I didn't find here until about a month after i'd picked my car up.

Never mind. Perhaps if i argue that mine was actually a pre-September car, i'll get to pay the slightly lower rate. :D

The only thing that'll suprise me about the car tax system is IF it didn't go up!

Although the new banding system will see a VERY small percent of cars be £20 a year to tax!!! Guess we'll be getting the mrs that 107/C1 afterall!!

As for my vRS, I'm not really gutted abouta £5 increase tbh. My dad's has gone up £60!!

Was the ASZ engine EU3 initially then EU4 latterly? I ask because the Fabia Technical Data booklet (10.05) quotes EU4 CO2 emissions as 143g/km whereas the EU4 BLT engine's emissions for my 10 April 2007 vRS are 140g/km for VED purposes. That would put those 2 EU4 engines in different VED categories and help explain the VED anomalies highlighted earlier.

Its a chuffing tenner for crying out loud, we all know the govt and the public sector is a mess, there's been enough threads on that too.

Fabia's are cheap to run, end of.

Worry about something important, like the taxes on beer;-)

ASZ were all EUIII AFAIK,

All BLT are EUIV, (And Stutter)

Hence the change to the engine code.

Mine was built at the end of November 2006 with the BLT engine.

Registered 21/12/06.

And according to the V5 CO2 is 140g/km

Who said i was worried. I just asked why the price went up and then down again even though it's pretty much the same car, though i didn't realise about all the data the DGW just mentioned.

Also, don't need to worry about beer tax, i don't drink it!! :D
