juddering?

Featured Replies

hi all i have a 1997 felicia 1.3mpi, when i was driving her in the rain last week the engine can only be described as juddered when i accelerated above 60mph and some times it does it when i set off from junctions its getting quite frequent feels like some ones pressing and letting go of the acclerator constantly for a few seconds any body have any ideas? thanks tom

As it's the MPI I would suspect the coilpack if it is more like an acceleration problem.

Other thing to consider is whether it could be the clutch release bearing or the clutch cable.

i have had a clutch fitted less than thousand miles ago so i would suspect its likly to be the coil pack ? i was out then and its doing it more frequently as i accelerate at junctions quite dangerous really, what happens to the coil pack for them to do this ?

It's the same sorts of electrical breakdowns under heat and/or load as used to happen to coils, condensors and HT leads on Kettering arc distributor systems.
