Fine then gutless....boost?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Done a bit of seaching over this but still not sure.

Very rarely my engine has no power (feels like an NA) can only hear very little to no spooling and no dump of any pressure, it feels like it's not gettig any boost, no additional noise like a leak etc. If i key off leave it for half hr and start up all is fine and she's flying again. Fuel consumption is still about the same during this lack of omph.

Could this be the N75 valve?

Do you have access to anyone with VAG-COM ?

It sounds like it's going into limp mode. Hence the lack of boost. (think limp mode limits boost to around 5psi)

It could be something simple, so best getting any codes read to make sure.

nope:(

anyone Walsall or Solihull area in the west mids area whos got half hr or so:thumbup:

There's a section on here somewhere with a vag-com map. :)

logic does suggest a dodgy N75, but my money is on you having a 17705 error code pop up too..

the symptoms you have described sound the same as lots of people suffering the 17705 (pressure drop between turbo and throttle body).

i dont think it could be the wastegate itself or the wastegate actuator, as i cant see how this would be intermitant. so your probably right with the N75.

dunno how much one is, but suck it and see!

Hope the new / old diverter valve helps mate. Let me know how you get on.

If you have suddenly started to get loads more torque then it maybe the n75 causing an overboost limp mode.

But my money would be on the impossible to get rid of 17705 code.

You need fault codes read.

Huge differance in the running...no where as nosey on spool up and the torque keeps on piling up now with no drop off:D

Big thanks again mate:thumbup:

My eyes are peeled.:D

My fabia vRS has started to do the same sort of thing?

It's good up to 2500rpm, then after there is very little boost, it seems like it's holding back??

Is this a turbo problem then as I'm not sure what an N75 valve is and are they expensive?

Just had my turbo changed 5k ago?

may take it and get it read?
