Iphones... pretty damn robust!

Featured Replies

well after spending the day at Alton towers today, i have to say im impressed with my iphone..

After giving it to a mate to lookafter  while i went on a ride involving water, she managed to have it accidently fall out her pocket, bounce down a flight of stairs and then fall into a pool of water a few inches deep.

She said that she saw the phone still on while it was in the water, though when the screen went out it wouldnt come back on..

when she broke the news to me i was a bit annoyed (although was already mulling over a 3G to replace it)

Anyway, on the journy back, after sulking for a while about the demise of the piephone... my pocket vibrated, took the iphone out and the damn thing is still alive!!!!

I dunno if its a sealed unit or something because save a few more bangs and scrapes its still fully operational, looks like water hasnt gone anywhere near the screen.. the battery is still showing full, the mic and speakers still work fine too :eek:

I'll have to get one for the wife for when she next puts it in the washing machine. I'm actually surprised how robust her phone have been. Her motorola KRZR has been swimming a few times too.

Traitor!!!! N95 is still the best. (until the 3G Piephone comes oot)

No issue Roy... i still have the N95. still prefer that for phone-like features, but the iphone is very very good at what it does... web-browsing!

i once dropped my brick nokia(3310 i think) work phone form about 5 meters high onto concrete from a cherry picker and it went about 4 different directions but it worked like nothing had happened once reassembled :D

My friend left his old nokia in his top pocket of the ride that shoots you up into the air really fast at flamingo land and showered everyone below in little tiny bits of phone! lol

Needless to say it didn't work after that!!

For sale, one slighly used iphone .... lol

My gf's dad dropped his down the toilet, after fishing it back out he noticed the screen said, this 'device is not compatible with the iphone' and it has worked fine ever since.

I have dropped mine many times as well and its still fine.

Mine's got the odd scratch on the edges from when I let go of it whilst pi55ed and tbh I'm also very impressed with how robust they are.

Still can't get bored of it, it so sexual :D

my freind put a key to his ipod touch (not sure if its the same facia material!) i thought he was nuts especially only having it for a day!!! but it didnt scratch it one bit!
