Zune in the North West?

Featured Replies

I've been pondered one of these, the 2nd gen 80Gb, as I might be over in the States/Canada shortly. Anyone got one?

Particularly interested in how it would work with my Alpine HU. Although it's primarily designed for iPods, I've used USB sticks with it too. So if there's anyone local with one, I'd appreciate being able to try

Why they've not been brought over here/Europe is beyond me really - bit of an odd Microsoft decision

Cheers,

Steve

As you say, the zune was never released in europe...

TBH i think your flogging a dead dog, just stick with an ipod.

I think the Zune uses "Play4sure" as a interface, dont know if your headunit supports it, but you might just be limited to using the line out jack.. which isnt ideal

Zune doesn't support 'Plays-For-Sure'. It will play MP3, Certain versions of WMA & AAC (but not the Apple 'fairplay' DRM files from the iTunes store)

Rumour is of a European launch in 2009. I agree with NeoVR; it's a bit of a no-hoper. I'd stick with Creative or Apple.

If i would have said that i reckon i would have been flamed into christmas :D

But that is because you are a fanboy :P:D

eriously though I agree I'd stick to an iPod as it's the standard these days.
