Skoda Dance MP3 CDs

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My wife and I will be taking delivery of our new Skoda Fabia 2 1.2 12v in Anthracite Grey next week, which we're really looking forward to.

One question I had related to the Skoda Dance radio. I'd like to create some MP3 CDs for use in the car but wondered whether it can cope with songs saved in sub folders, or if they all need to just be in the root of the CD. I tend to store all of my MP3s in folders on my computer for tidiness.

I want to get some CDs ready so I can test out the stereo :)

Thanks,

Dave

folders are fine,

Excellent, thanks very much.

Folders are great, IIRC you can browse between the folders using the upper right button...

Yes, folders work best. I managed to get 8 albums (all copied at 192kb rate) onto one CDR!

You'll find that the radio/CD/aux set up is one of the best features of the Fabia.

I highly recommend you to burn Madonna's La Isla Bonita and Vogue on the CD. They sounded GREAT in the Fabia Combi I test drove a while back.

Hello, another question about the cd player in the fabia. Will it play cd's that are encoded with wma files as opposed to mp3's? My wife wants to download the mamma mia album off tesco website but it's only available in wma format. Also if anyone knows, can wma's be burnt to a cd in the same way as mp3's can???

My wife bought the cd today so we're ok. We have 6 weeks till our fabia arrives, so if anyone knows if the "dance" cd player can play wma's, I would be very gratefull. I have quite a few songs in this format and am wondering whether there is any point putting them on my cd's in preperations for my fabia's arrival!!!

Don't get wma files full stop - stick to mp3. It's a much more widely adopted format - you could hardly find a device anywhere that doesn't play mp3s so you will be much more future-proof.

I might be able to recommend some tunes from my (legal) file sharing library. What sort of music do you like? I have some blank CDs here so if I have your sort of tunes then I will burn some and put the disc in the mail.

are you able to share the name of this legal site? Is it expensive?
