Fabia - interior light problem

Featured Replies

I bought a 2001 Fabia 1.4 16v at the beginning of the week and have noticed that the interior light fails to go off when I start the engine or after locking the doors. I've checked the control switch is in the correct position so for the time I'm having to leave the switch in the off position. Any ideas?

take the bulb out?

Have you tried the switch in the opposite position, just to see if it does anything? If not, it could be a faulty microswitch in teh door.

Thanks for the advice, I have tried the switch in all three positions. To the far left they stay on all the time as they should, in the middle they stay off as the should but to the right they stay on all the time, not going off when the door is shut or engine started so I'm wondering if it is the switch in the door. Is this something I can sort myself or is it a garage job? I'm not sure where to find the microswitch in the door - any suggestions?

if it is the switch its part of the door lock;)
