A resource for uprated vRS camshafts

Featured Replies

Found a source for uprated camshafts - what I liked was that they "nitrate" (surface harden) the camshaft after grinding it. That way you have a good lifespan out of it, unlike some outfits that I have contacted that only regrind them (have read posts where people had those wear down after a while into useless junk).

details:

price € 207,58 (incl. 19% VAT)

nitrate treatment € 60 (ditto the VAT)

They spec an 8bhp gain, and you need to send your OEM camshaft to Germany.

The outfit is called dbilas-dynamic, and do cams for allsorts of vehicles.

website: dbilas dynamic

email: [email protected]

disclaimer: I am in no way connected with them, just posting up the info for anyone interested in sourcing uprated cams.

Bas

DBLIAS do a lot of Opel tuning so they are well respected

Think aligator (tdiclub.com) uses these cams for a few years now. Might be an idea to pm him on tdiclub for info.

interesting, but my opinion of uprated fabia PD cams is impaired quite badly by my experiences.

Sorry Jase - I have a lot of respect for you, and consider you a good mate but I happen to know for a fact that your cam is not surface hardened. (No-one can accuse me of insulting Jase or the Mongrel - both mechanical wonders in their own kind of way)

Your bad experiences - are they related to lack of surface hardening do you think?

I agree with Bas, These cams are subject to some force, hence why they have a specific requirement for special oil.

The OEM cams are hardened, so why shouldnt A Performance cam be "uprated" with further hardening. It makes no sense why a company would re-profile a cam then not harden the newely cut surface.

Its always got to me why the pd150 engine has more cam related problems than the pd130.

My friend had dbilas dynamics cam on his 106 gti...

Do they also do throttle bodies, i think his throttle bodies were Dbilas too
